Oh Licia that would be fantastic if we could meet up for the day - I've already booked my flight and unfortunately I will only be there for 1 week this year as I've been spending a lot of money on my house at the moment.  I don't want to meet you just for the cake!!   :naughty: :Luv2: :rofl:  I will be there 12th - 19th June - I could give you Fulvio and Ester's email and it would be fantastic if you are there at the same time.

Hey Mary, chances are we may go up to Alto Adige for summer holiday this year.  We have been there twice during August and the weather at this period is miserable, so we are saying we would like to try going there a little earlier.  Hmmm, Venezia is not so far off from the route we are taking, we may stop by if you are still there with the cake ;)

 :rofl: :rofl:  How funny Jo, well at least Oliver isn't a horse, he saved us about 1/4 of the cake, but it wouldn't have stood a chance with a presence of a horse, we all know the horsies go totally ga-ga over apples :evillaugh:

Yep Lucy our stupidity was definitely punished, anyway I can't really blame him the cake is really lush, I do several different version of apple cakes but this is one of the best, it contains loads of chunky fresh apples and wonderfully moist, and Oliver is right the special frosting is to die for :drool;

Oh and for your peace of mind the cake doesn't contain any brussel sprouts. :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

Dolcetta, I one placed a cake on the windowsill to cool so I could ice it, and my horse ambled by and took it in one bite!!! Who knew horses ate banana cake  :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

Sounds yummy cake - I'll be right behind Oliver (or do I mean ahead of?!) in the queue next time!

For an afternoon snack we had a slice of fresh apple cake which I baked the other day.  The cake was about 28cm (11inch) diameter, generously covered with frosting made with mascarpone, butter and powdered sugar, at this point about a half of it left, we forgot to put it away into the fridge after we were done.  Silly us as we knew very well Oliver loves this frosting, which I let him lick a little when we have the cake.  Then we were at the computer for about an hour, when I went into the kitchen to have something to drink, what do I find on the kitchen counter, about a half of remaining frosting licked clean from the cake!! :Crazy: :doh: :Crazy:

Well I didn't want to scold him as it was really our fault, I know too well "self-discipline and conscience" was not a thing to be expected from a cat, and what do we expect when he sees something extra yummy just sitting there all alone, no one near by looking!??  I am just hoping he won't get a tummy upset as he gorged way more than for his own good!! :shify: :shify:
