I wouldnt buy it either, although it was a lot cheaper than JWB - I know of cats that have done well on it though.

Ahhh, so that's what it is. I wouldn't feed Memphis on it.

lay me down, let me go, feeling heavy the ground is cold,
lay me down take it slow I'm ready to stumble, sing & then swing low

Burns is something like 40% rice and 40% meat - while I like the meat content, I dont like the rice content being so high, which was another reason I woudlnt feed it.

*puts on anti Burns hat*

Burns is not a good food. Out of their cat, rabbit and dog food I only know that the rabbit is any good. The dog food is horrendous. It's like 57% rice has very, very low protein and fat which most dogs can't survive on. I know of one place where most of the dogs aren't eating and they are being fed Burns. When they ran out and switched brands the dogs started eating. My own dog did VERY badly on it then refused to eat it, and it's very common. In fact it's far too worrying the number of people who've experienced the same. The cat food doesn't say how much % is rice (which the dog does) and i'd be really concerned that its a high %

Also Burns' food is having a price increase from February.

Desley, did you see the bargains section re Perfect Fit? - There is a pet shop in Accrington selling it for £2.99  for a box of 12 - not too far from you?

I use JWB despite them being bought out - have tried Burns and Arden Grange on previous cats, and it wasn't rated that well. They will only eat certain PAH food as well, and not the senior.

Royal Canin is also owned by Mars. Mars also owns Whiskas.

Its a case of deciding if a brand who doesnt test is ok but the money made from those sales goes into the big pot of owning company who do test. If that makes sense  :shify:

JWB was bought out by Mars, who are known testers. Royal Canin were also bought out by a bigger company, cant remember who but again are known animal testers.

I was asked by Sally who is a CP volunteer (and Sunshine's mum!  ;D ) to see if anyone knows if they test. I think I remember someone saying they don't but the company that owns them does - was it them or Royal Canin?
