da mouse if the favourite here too.  Although the tail usually lasts about 15 minutes before it comes off.   We've been through a few wands and several attachments but it's still popular (although we're giving it a break at the moment as Mosi seemed a bit bored with it all).

This is also a suitable place for me to give the usual warning about not leaving it unattended.  That applies to any toy of this type, but more so for da bird as the string is very thin and Mosi can chew through it in seconds.  I don't want anyone else to repeat Mosi's misadventures with it.

We had one for Christmas and I am amazed by how much my three love it.  Whenever Bert goes into his new cat tent, he drags Da Bird in with him!  And is the ONLY toy I have ever had that brings them all rushing downstairs as soon as I tap it on the floor - they know the sound already and all come running down - yes, really!  I can't believe the effect it has on them

jasper is a total addict too!!!!!  i'm so pleased - he never likes things i buy him but has gone mental for da....!!!   i have kept the tube for storage - as recommended.... but he goes and gets it out himself!!!!  i cant believe how high he jumps after it!  when i was unwrapping all the bits he loved them all - the original bird he adores and he scarpered with the da puff and the da mouse before i had chance to put them on the string!  have done since and he loves all  :Luv:

trouble is he's not very good at... stopping!!!!  he'd go for hours if i let him!  how long do others allow play time???  about an hour (with lots of little breaks) seems to be max here - thenhe starts panting.  but still goes for it if i dont put it away.  we were playing with it earlier and i was eating some ice cream so i wedged the stick so the bird was dangling - he kept catching and stomping off with it except he'd get so far then it'd ping back - it was hilarious!!!!  especially when it pinged back to far and i ended up with a da bird on my lap... and a jasper in my bowl!!!!

it really is the most amazing fabulous toy ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   ;D

As for the mouse I think its running about my house somewhere, I just let them play with that without the rod.

No, no, no, no, no....  You MUST find da mouse and try it out on the stick  :wow: That's the boys absolute favourite out of the whole set.  I'm actually on the 3rd mouse they love it so much  :evillaugh:

Thanks BC!!  And Gill too, I will remember the info in case our friend fails us!!
Oliver can be pretty quick and often catches and pulls the toy like a dog, (ears pulled back flat, eyes glaring with intensity, I have been trying forever to photograph him in this state as it is so funny, but my success is yet to come as the reaction of the camera I am using is too slow... :( )  so probably I need to get a few replacement feathers as well!!

i've had 2 attachments now and am needing to order a new one :evillaugh:

For overseas shipping you need to send Tan and email via the shop ands she will give you a price, all items in the shop already include UK shipping si it should just be a bump up on that as you arte within the EU.

Remind her who you are on Purrs too  ;D

First stage is open an account in the shop cos it works like any other online shop and seperate from Purrs forum.

Well actually we failed him on Christmas we didn't manage to build his cat tree like we promised... :(  So probably he deserves this for a consolation any how!! :)  I just remembered a friend of mine travels to the US in a fortnight, perhaps we will ask him if he can bring one back  ;D , wasn't that toy an american invention originally?

not sure, as Smidgen was soo taken with his that I was worried he would injure himself, especially when the dog decided it was such fun he wanted to join in too. You can get replacement 'heads' (i.e the feathery end bit) the costs are listed in the shop. Smidgen has fastened onto it firmly and dragged it backwards over the end of the bed and around the leg of the dressing table without breaking it. But I suspect the feathers would start looking a little tatty after a while ... :Luv2:

Thanks BC!!  Yes I may use the purrs shop if I decide to purchase one, but I can't find any info about overseas shipping... :-:  Also how long would the toy stand against the assault by a hyperactive young boy who weighs 5,3kg and growing?

Dolcetta you can buy it from the Purrs Shop (see the shop button above). And I have not noticed any evidence of nasty chemical dyes or such - the feathers on mine look like they are fresh from the bird ...

I still haven't had any luck finding them in Rome, but one thing I wonder, how long does it last?  Are they made somewhat durable?  Then anything harmful added (like colouring or other chemicals) in the feather parts?  Oliver tends to trash any feathery toys in no time at all, and he tries to eat the feathers that he ripped off!!  I have to be careful because I really don't want him to eat those feathers with bright green or pink colouring, and then I wouldn't be very chuffed if he trashed it in half an hour after looking for them far and wide here in Rome.  If I consider it a reasonable thing and worth an investment, I may look for a mail order deal from outside Italy.

Bengal leaps are something else to see, I tried getting some pics tonight but ended up with tails and paws

Ive heard the mousey is good too, am definitely going to try that one tomorrow night  ;D

Well it has gone down well, especially bird and sparkely, oh and the red feather. As for the mouse I think its running about my house somewhere, I just let them play with that without the rod.

Ollie is scared of it but he will play with the smaller one  :-:  Lyla tries to nick off with it and Ted and Harry do flying summersalts. And Lady Mace just sits there with her paw out like the Queen waiting for it to come to her lol

The first day we got it I was laughing my pants off all morning at the cats

Who said fat cats cant jump.

Its strange but all cats seem to like it, well unless they are scared.

Mine dont play in the house with it but once we are able to sit outside again, I am sure they will be pouncing   ;D

As far as I know there is no catnip or anything and I know damouse attachment had a good revue, so was gonna get one of those.

Fancy 11 bengals all going for it LOL

I find that I have three cats all ready to go but they are so polite and let each other have a turn well cept Sasa who wants to play all the time

I wondereed how it had gone cc cos you won the complete set in the auction didnt you  ;D

I was just about to post on Dabird when I saw this  :evillaugh:

Having heard all the rave reviews on this and another forum I eventually caved in and bought the benglys a couple of the dabirds and some additional extras, the mousey, sparkly and fluffy.  It came in the post today  ;D

We have just spent the best part of an hour playing the dabird with 11 benglys who clearly think it is the bees knees of toys.  Never have I seen Minerva and Kaiser so excited over anything I have bought, infact we had to stop as Minerva started panting after a bit and clearly needed a rest    Cant wait to try out the other attachments tomorrow (and of course will get some pics  ;))

Da bird and Da sparkely?

Harry and Ted go mad for it, and Ollie is scared of it lol. Is it Catnipped or something? The reason I ask is because I have bought one of those little wands with a dangely on and Harry does not bat an eyelid when I get it out but as soon as the Da bird comes out he is raring to go jumping in twists and quite high and he never misses. I now know how he catches the birds, he is an ace hunter and nothing gets past him. ;D
