I did find this funny, but I have to admit I felt a bit guilty for laughing. Sadly there really are people that would think this is how you bath a cat, though I would hope they're in the minority.

I have to admit that is my response to this video too  :-:

I'll lock this thread for the simple reason that there's no longer anything to discuss  ;D

and also know very well that we would never actually wash our kitty like that.

True - WE here DO know that (hopefully!) - but that video is out there on youtube, like so many other crackpot vids and my concern is the weirdos out there who actually MIGHT think this is the way to do it.

Was this the one by Bud Herron starring Charlotte?

Surely no-one took that at face value?
Cats are like little bundles of razor blades wrapped in soft fur.

Leigh, I knew you didn't mean to offend anyone, especially this coming from you of all people!

It is funny in the same sense that the infamous wakey wakey animation is funny, we all know your kitty is not actually going to bludgeon you with a baseball bat, and also know very well that we would never actually wash our kitty like that.  I trust that the video was well edited so no one subjected to that boy to any extraordinary torture. ;) (within the context that any washing is a torture in the opinion of the cats!)

Cats are self-cleaning ( unless they get covered in goo or ick of course ). Don't dare watch the video as I'm already wired from too many espressos.

After posting I thought the same as you Dave,

It's based on the well known text on the same subject. It was not my intent to offend.

This has been posted before - frankly I think its appalling and not in the least bit funny and gives out completely the wrong message about how to treat animals.  >:(

I bath my persians, and believe me, that video is NOT how its done.

Luckily Ollie is a strictly indoor boy so he doesn't get too dirty, except that he does tend to crawl into little inaccessible corners of our flat with his mainly white fur rubbing onto all the dust  when a guest comes or he does something naughty and Cristiano notices (he couldn't care less if I do  ), so probably this is a good instruction video to keep in mind just in case... :evillaugh:
