Hiya,
I don't know as much about Alfie's history as I would like to. He was picked up as a stray by a dog warden and kept in kennels where apparently he was terrified of the dogs. He was then taken in by the cat charity and his first foster mum kept him in a cage in the garden where he was really afraid of humans and other cats. Liz the lady who then fostered him in her home and from whom I adopted him is a lovely lady. She was visiting the other foster mum and saw him and he came to her and she realised how timid and frightened he was. She took him home and fostered him. I was looking to adopt a cat and I had a home visit from a local charity but bthey didn't have any cats but she did mention FiV cats and that got me thinking and looking around and I found Alfie or "Little Al" on their website and the rest as they say is "history". Later last year I had a call from Liz to say that a friend in another local cat charity was trying to find a home for Frankie and asked me to put a few posting on the forums. As nobody could adopt him I decided to do so as I thought that he would make excellent company for Alfie and, in that, I'm delighted to say that I was right as they're the best of chums. By then of course I had also adopted my mum's 16 year old cat Suzie after mum went into a nursing home. Alfie is a star, not only did he accept Suzie but also Frankie but he loves me to bits and has really become a trusting and loving cat.
All the best
Leigh
