I think it tells you in the book but in the summer, you can drop a couple of ice cubes in for them

I gave up using the filters as I don't think they do much. I think its better to give it a wash out with hot water & soap and put fresh water in every few days.

yup they plug into wall socket, and the Charcoal filter's arent that expensive, have a look on ebay

I've been looking at getting one of these for my tribe as they love the running water from the pond which i'd prefer they didn't drink.  How do they work? Do they just plug into the mains electric??  Are the filters expensive?  Sorry i'm not very technical with gadgets
