Awww she is beauiful!!  :'(

As I type I have a black cat paddling my tummy (ouch) while purring  :Luv: and rubbing her face on my face (and generally getting in the way but awwww cutie!)

I don't understand how nobody could want her, her colour wasnt an issue when I got her at all. I think she is beautiful and she will always be my baby  :)

To think I might not see those eyes, makes it so hard not to cry, and as we say our long goodbyes, I nearly do.

Dementia creeping in here - I forgot I had already posted about Beth
DO NOT BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

It's really sad that cats like Bethany (She has been in foster care for over a month now) get overlooked. She also "nips" so can't be homed with kids but she is gorgeous - I wish I had loads of money & space and could take more  :'(

Its like being racist, isn't it? If these people who adopt from cat shelters are cat lovers, why cant they see all cats are the same on the outside regardless of markings and colour.  Once you get to know the cat their personality is what you fall in love with, I have 4 cats 2 black n while, 1 black and 1 Grey. I was not going to get the Grey 1 cos i thought he wouldn't fit in with the family, but i love all cats so he came to me. I dislike people who just want to live in a perfect world, ha ha who are they trying to kid? I just love my black cats, I think they are the most beautiful you can get.

My little black cat.

oh she looks just like my Ebony  :(  poor little thing, I find it astounding that black cats are overlooked so much, mind you the rescue I got her from was pretty chock full of tabbies and torties at the time, she was the only black one there.

I have to say biased towards the black furkids (don't tell the others) but my first pair 14 years ago were black and Sweetie is still the leader of this motley mob and sadly Toerag her brother went to he bridge 7 years ago but we now have Bert 21, Inca 4, Diva 4 and my litttle boys all growed up now Cougar and Puma aged 2 hand rears who never left and are my shadows as they think I am their mother even after all this time!

Still we also love tabbies, bThe Tuxes - we have 10 and the grey, grey and white, gingers, naughty torties 3 off and any other precious furball whether clan member of foster they are my family of many colours - I'm way ahead of Ang and Brad!!!!!!! ;)

It's a shame that gorgeous little kittys like this one get left behind - I took photos for sharon of a beautiful tabby & a beautiful black cat Bethany on the same day about 3 weeks ago. The Tabby was rehomed in one day and as far as I know, poor Bethany is still waiting and will possibly spend xmas in a pen  :'(
It's not fair  :'(

Was it this, found this on CC originally posted  by Sam (Fussy_Furball)??

I have been reading the latest Marilyn Edwards book and in it there is the most wonderful poem by Doreen Dann about Black Cats who are often overlooked at cat sanctuaries, which I thought I'd share with you all:

"Oh, see that pretty one fluffy and sweet,
Little white legs and four tiny grey feet
Please look at the dark shape alone at the back,
I'm cuddly, I'm pretty, but I'm also BLACK

Come see the tabbies with markings so fine
Look at that ginger one, Oh let it be mine
We are the dark shapes - there at the back,
We're cute and adorable but, sadly, we're BLACK

If you want a pet that will love you to bits,
Come, take a look at these little BLACK kits
Our eyes will shine just as bright as those others,
Just give us a cuddle - me, and my brothers!

Look into my eyes, what do you see?
A beautiful kitten, so playful - that's me.
You've seen all the pretty ones - now choose from the back
Say 'look at that treasure, it's mine - and it's BLACK"

There was a thread on CC ages ago about black cats being hard to rehome, some one had posted a poem which was designed to help rehome black cats in shelters.  Does any one have a copy of that poem please?
