Panting - normal?

I'll bear that in mind. They seemed fine though, other than Belle panting for literally about 3 minutes afterwards.

Mine too, in all honesty I personally think an hour is far too long, although I appreciate others may disagree. Like children and indeed some adults cats don't  know when enough is enough.

Mine can only cope with about 5 mins with da birdy before panting

I remember one of Helen's boys did this but it didn't turn out to be anything to worry about did it?

Yep, Riley did and still does the panting thing after vigorous play - £500 worth of ECG's, ultrasounds, X-rays and blood  tests revealed he is 100% healthy and perfectly normal (thank god for insurance  )  Lucas pants after a heavy da bird/da mouse session too.

I was playing with Stig today using Da Bird and I stopped when he started panting, I figured he had enough by then, slept all afternoon because of it straight through dinner LOL

My boys all pant after playing, especially the Guinness and Widget as Muppet has learned to pace himself

What a lovely pic. Archie is the first cat that I have had that pants after exercise, especially a session with Da Mosey. When he had his last op.I mentioned it to the vet who checked his heart and said he was fine.

After an hours work out i would say not to worry, thats a lot of effort for a cat to do!

My eldest daughter just had an hour long session playing with Da Bird. The cats have had to be shut into a bedroom for an hour now until I get a new front door put on so I wanted to tired them out so they'd sleep rather than wrecking the place. Just after though Belle was panting just like a dog. In fairness he does go completely nuts for Da Bird and literally bounces off the walls, but even so, is this normal? It stopped after a couple of minutes. I remember one of Helen's boys did this but it didn't turn out to be anything to worry about did it?
