What is he on? Some can be easily mixed in food.
The normal tricks may upset his stomach eg. cheese balls and defurem treats.

Thats really good news Felix, so glad that Simba is on the mend, I sitll give my 2 the Lacto B twice a week and they are mostly fine although we still have the occasional "loose poo"
but nothing to worry about.

That's good news, you'll probably also find that the rest of the inflammation with go when the anti'bs are finished, as they are not good for upset tums anyway

Just come back from vets,he said that he doesn't feel so imflamed now

but give us 2 more weeks of antibiotics when we will have to take him back again and I have to wean him off the inflamitries tabs and also wean him of the sensitive food.I asked him about the lacto b and he said yes about 3 days before he is finnished the tabs I can start him on it for a few weeks,then later on maybe just once a week.I can also frontline him which he said should be fine

I have been to frightened to do them all while he hasn't been well. So hopefully all will be good really soon.

Hooray....................

A few hours after we came back from the vet he livened up

playing with the others,the injection must of worked wonders.Will be taking him the vets again tomorrow at 2.30pm,and yes his poo's have hardened up

(at last)Been busy all weekened with my son's footy matches, (all my 5 lads play footy)thats why haven't been on sooner+ sometimes I can't always get on the computer

So glad that it is nothing serious but sorry that little Simba is still not back to normal. Sending him huggles and lots of love. As Claire says it will take time, it really may be worth trying some Lacto B to help his tummy. You will be as bad as me soon and yelling "hurray" when he eventually does a "normal" poo.

They are good common sense sites which is what I liked about them. There is a lot to take in, I printed a lot of stuff out so I could read at leisure! I spent over a year researching raw diets before actually making the change.

Sorry you havent got a definitive answer to his poo problems.

Sorry there's not a quick fix hun, but these things can go on for a while. Just be safe in the knowledge that its not something seriously wrong, and whilst frustrating and upsetting for you, there will be a solution out there, you and the vets just need to find it

With my IBS, it stemmed from the break-up with my ex-partner over 6 years ago, moving house etc, all that was associated with it, and my symptoms have come and gone ever since. If I'm poorly, stressed or upset, it starts over again.

You may get symptoms recurring every now and then in the future, but learning to manage it is the key

Just come back from vets yet again,before we went vets he just had mucas and blood coming out,the vet said thats cos he feels like he wants to go the toilet or the time even though there is nothing there,then he had his dinner and that seemed to come straight out too! Anyway the vet looked him over and said he is really really inflamed so gave him an inflamatry jab to last him till tuesday when we will be going back again,he still thinks it might be caused by stress and it can last for a few months

(I hope not) I just hope this works now

Its better if you can feed some fresh meat and not just frozen as the freezing process depletes taurine which is an essential amino acid for cats. Cats are well adapted to tackle bacteria because of the strong acids in their stomachs and their short digestive tract that doesnt allow things to hang around too long to cause problems! As long as its human grade and preferably organic if you can afford it.

I feed chicken (including wings/thighs/necks), beef, lamb, turkey, heart, liver, kidneys - I like to buy regularly so its fresh, (just normal human grade meat from the butchers or supermarket) but will sometimes buy frozen bone-in rabbit online.

They have the raw on a Saturday - 3 times during the day and the meat we get is deep frozen so that any bacteria etc has been destroyed, their favourite is OX Cheek (yuk) and they also like Mince. Keep your chin up hun xx

It doesn't sound like you've got too much to worry about hun, upset tums are tricky to deal with sometimes, its a case of trial and error to find a combination of food and sometimes drugs to stabilise things, and then maintain them.

I've suffered with IBS for years, and it can be so frustrating 'cos you think you've got things balanced, then a dose of tonsillitis and antiobotics send you right back where you started

Do try not to worry, you will find a workable solution, and I'll bet that you feel worse about this than he does

Oh Felix (big cyber hug) I know its not easy but please try not to worry too much, we have discovered since havong the Bengals that they are prone to bad tummies. When our 2 were put onto antibiotics it made them both worse and we were at our wits end. As for the raw meat, our vet said not to give it them but I decided to go on the advice of our breeder (she has been breeding Bengals for over 10 years) she explained that the Bengal has a slightly different digestive system to other cats and that sometimes traditional treatment doesnt work. Mellika still passes a little bit of blood occasionally now but all the tests we have had done have shown no problem so we are just hoping that it is something she grows out of.

The vet said the mucas is normal for I B D condition which she thinks it is and Colitis is interlinked with it.His white blood cells are quite raised and he is still very inflamed. So I have to see how he goes on these antibiotics and the Royal Canin food,we take him back again next Tuesday,I ask her did you test for Cancer but she said they would have to do more test for that,His Kidneys and liver are fine.If these don't work he will have to go on Steroids or inflamertries tabs,(spelt wrong I know) can't think.

I would check with the vets, but I don't think it will be anything to worry about.

With upset tums, especially those prone to be runny tums, it often happens that the bowel is irritated so you do get a bit of blood, and sometimes mucas as well.

That's the case in hoomans, anyway, not sure if the same applies to our furry friends, but defo check with the vets on the phone as you're concerned about it.
