A quick and easy test for the presence of ear mites is to rub the base of the ear, just below were it joins the head. If the cat/kitten flinches and tried to scratch with it's back leg, then you've probably got them.

If it is ear mites you will need to get treatment from the vet because they are contagious, they normally look like black specks inside the ear and can go quite deep down.  worming wise - they should be wormed once a month until they are 6 months old and then every 3 months.

they'll be getting wormed don't worry now call me paranoid but i think patch has ear mites he's got scratches inside his ear but socks doesnt how do i treat them and what do i need to look out for. should i treat them for ear mites anyway

Yep cos they can get them from their mum and through fleas too.

Even indoor cats need regular worming and fleaing. But ask the vet as it depends on weight at that age.

hey guys,
i'm a bit unsure about this so i'm hoping you can help me.
My two boys are nine weeks old and i was wondering apart from there jabs which they are getting next week do they need to be de wormed if they have never been outside and never will be going outside. also is there anything else that needs to be done. guess i'm worried as they are my first kittens and my other two are older
