Yep, she needs a bigger garden too, and an owner who perhaps doesn't work full-time or is willing to train her to spend time on her own.  I made that point to the mother this morning, who muttered something about having tried everything they could - utter rubbish.

yes she sounds as if she just needs a little help getting past the separation anxiety thing (and a solid dose of obedience training) she will get that where she is being held, so all fingers and toes crossed for a happy future for her - poor dog - what a horrible fate to end up with such disfunctional people.

Oh, I see what you mean Blackcat ... well, I know she's safe because she's back at the rescue centre.  I really hope someone gives her a good home - she was a lovely dog

telling you what the outcome was, is different to letting you know if someone went around. It would simply mean letting you know whether or not the reported animal was safe ... Careful wording, that

wonder why they would not tell you anything, maybe call back on Monday pretending innocence, did they take your name

Just called them now - they said they couldn't tell me whether anyone had been round or not (bit odd as their website says they will let complainants know the outcome), but that they will cancel the report ...

absolutely you should. Giving them benefit of the doubt - it is possibly lack of resources due to wildgoose chases that causes them to appear so slack at times.

I'm not too bothered about finding out why the dog went back to the rescue centre, as the main thing is that she's going to be rehomed    I just wondered whether, if they haven't visited him yet, I should be letting them know so they don't waste time.

I dont know if they would tell you much if you did call, but you could only try, tell them you are updating them on the situation

After a week of complaining to the RSPCA with no success, I bumped into the mother of the  nextdoor this morning.  Good news - he took the dog back to the rescue centre yesterday.  Have no idea whether the RSPCA did actually call and that prompted him to do something - there was obviously more to the story as the mother was very tearful and shaking - I wondered whether the dog had attacked someone again.  I was quite blunt in my response and said I wouldn't miss the barking and that I hoped he wouldn't be getting another one. 

Does anyone know whether I should now call the RSPCA again to let them know the dog is no longer there?
