I took a call from this grockel of a woman on the CP line today.
One of the other local rescues (independent) had, but the sound of it, set up a direct rehoming to this woman and have now washed their hands of it. This woman lives in sheltered accomodation and isn't supposed to have pets. She thought she could keep it's existance quiet.
Anyway, she's going on 'holiday' this rubby Sunday and can't afford to provide for the care of this cat. And it's not vaccinated so the catteries won't touch it either!
I quizzed her about how much thought she'd given taking on an elderly cat with special needs and she says "If it needs a vet, there's a PDSA clinic once a week", which is pretty rough if the cat gets sick the day after, isn't it....
I suggested a cat sitter to come in and feed and she said she'd been offered £60 for 12 days, which I thought was reasonable and she said "But it makes it an expensive holday.."
What can you do when you're up against
like her!!
