It was simply a joke thread but I have enjoyed your opinions! No animals other than humans and monkeys copulate for fun, simply a survival instinct.

I agree with susanne and would say that most of the animal species dont copulate for enjoyment but as susanne said are homonal driven (a species of monkey are an exception but i cant remember which) for the rest it is mostly in order to reproduce and also as said a dominance / social structure reasons.

I wouldnt say you can class animals as gay thinking of it in the same way as humans, we can be attracted physically and emotionally to the same sex and want to pair bond with one possibly, animals dont tend to be attracted through looks or emotion but want to mate when and as the hormones dictate.

I agree, although generally in species where animals pair up. I'm not convinced that this is the case in cats though. Although they do form social relationships, sex is pretty functional and driven by hormones so I'd say cats aren't gay. They do mount each other in dominance behaviour though, which I think gives rise to many people thinking they are gay.

My oldest tom does that and he lurrves the ladies.

A friend of mine has four cats and two of the males, though neutered, mount eachother occassionally. She's convinced they're gay.

Im positive my cat Marley is gay ! My mum teases him & says Ive pampered & talked baby to him for too many years! hes very talkative & affectionate ! Mum even bought him a pink cat carrier & collar !
