Ruth, I don't leave it long enough to notice whether it fades, because I have to do it every two months or so to cover the roots. When I do the roots I don't mess about with the root application, but do an all-over one.

I used to have a 'Morticia' streak (or is it the one from the Munsters? I get them muddled), but it's more general now!

Letty is the BIG feather fan in our house... theres a lovely toy, £1.95 from Selfridges would you believe... 1 metre long bouncy stick with another couple of metres of elastic string on... and then a small weight and bunch of bright feathers on the end.

Letty has just finished her second one, despite me being v strict about supervised play only...

Oh I did that to myself by accident once - it was a nasty shock as it was supposed to be a soft auburn. Tried putting Magic Silver White in to calm it down but ended up with a purple scalp to contrast with the pillar box red. The only solution was to go very dark brown (at the hairdresser this time). Very embarrassment!!

I bought one of these from PAH and wasnt very impressed....i ended up taking it off the cats as the feathers pull off pretty easily and they kept gagging on them

I do not believe in all this supersistion rubbish and I have just bought 5 peacock feathers from ebay. of course if you never hear from me again you'll know it's all true and peacock feathers are bad luck!

I was about the say the same thing, I used to work a farm and my little sister picked up a peacock feather from there when she was a baby and my mum went berserk! She is so superstitious about them.

My parents live on a farm and so pheasant feathers are always something we have as a standard cat toy, even giving them to friends cats for christmas pressies

!! I don't think the shooting season starts until September time, (actually just realised that September is only a couple of weeks away, could have fooled me with the pants weather

!) Anyway, sorry, I was going to say if and when they get some feathers this year, I'm more than willing to post some out to you all. I'll let you all know when I can get some. I'm sure I can sneak them through the post at work too

, so postage won't be as extortionate as on ebay! From the recent posts though, I must just add I'm not encouraging fraud by using works post, please don't ban me!!!

Please remember that nowadays it is not necessarily the weight, in this case as light as a feather springs to mind, but the size of the envelope also. Although I appreciate they will still be make a profit on postage and packing I expect.

Yes sam i'll get some freebie ones next time me thinks fae my uncle. PS our normal butchers locally dont sell pheasants etc i dont think

I was watching peacock and ostrich feathers but went for the cheapo pheasant ones..hey i'm scottish remember and they will do the same job

(actually the real reason is the peacock and ostrich ones all seemed to be treated, i am hoping cody will be able to still smell the bird on the pheasant ones and get more fun out of them)
