Mine love the "good girl" catnip treats but ignore kookamunga. Willow rolls around and drools. They end up stuck to the floor
DO NOT BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

Mosi doesn't show much interest in catnip, and Jaffa seems less interested than he used to be.  I think I did read somewhere that their interest declines with age?  He still likes it and will roll around on the floor with it, but doesn't get as crazy as he used to when he was younger.

Does everything happen at 6 months becuase she ignores the "get off" spray as well she sticks her nose in gives it a sniff and thinks nothing off it. (used it in corners of the room to put her off peeing there)

My two aren't mad on catnip though Toby loves his sparkipuss catnip cushion and Pearl adores her culpepper catnip mouse.

I do grow catnip for my local branch of CP to sell on at fundraisers and use the rest to make catnip toys for their stall. I've also got a couple of large tubs for myself because I like the smell of the stuff too.

But I have a problem...

Today my neighbour's cat broke into my greenhouse and trashed about a third of what I had...

Growing 2 window boxes full of Catnip at the moment, one standard and one lemon scented (don't ask)

By the time Ozzy is 6 months it should have grown to full strenght, looking forward to her getting totaly blotto and giving me a quiet night.

Ours all love it as well, particularly the girls. Last year Tigger ripped open a huuuge bag of it and proceeded to roll it all over the carpet bless her heart and the other week on her holiday Boopy stole a bag of catnip from the mantlepiece and obviously spent the night blissed out and the lady got up to find her lounge covered in the stuff!

Bilbo and Tigger had a live catnip plant Easter 2006 but they killed it by sitting in it and munching it to death!

There is an old saying that only approx 50% of cats like catnip

On behalf of the Clan cats I can say all 36 of ours and the 2 strays love it, they are currently wrecking the new outside plants, I dried sone in the greenhouse and the inside mob have catnip parties they love it and there's nothing like a spaced out feral who for about 2 mins likes you!!!

We have Brady an ex cruelty case only was coming home for Christmas 2002 but sonehow never quite left and he will be in the boot of the car after I have bought catnip sacks from Cp and his best to date is I ordered some dried from Zooplus with some tinned food and when we got home Zooplus box ripped apart and one very spaced out Brady!!! :Luv:

re the finger - no, not unless you are prone to infection. It Hurts like heck for a day or so then suddenly you have forgotten about it. Just keep it clean and out of possible infection sources like litter trays. Wear rubber gloves for wet activities.

Re Catnip - I have never actually had a cat who responded, but did have a burmese who went absolutely burko over Sard Wonder Soap (not sure if you can get it here). Washed a patch of carpet with it and a couple of days later she was rolling around, nuzzling the carpet and foaming at the mouth    Had me quite worried till I worked out what was happening..

I bought my brood a bag of catnip leaves yesterday.

Tramp has obviouly never had it before - he went mad and grabbed the bag out of my hand (getting his claw stuck in my finger at the same time).

I returned after bathing my finger and stemming the blood flow  to find him sitting there with a glazed look on his face and his white nose and mouth covered in green catnip - it really was funny. I did rush to get the camera but it was too late , he was rolling on the floor again !

(p.s
Re the finger ! Its really painful today and quiet red - do you think i should get it looked at ?)
