Dying of flea spray (plus few queries)

i used to use advantage
i have just changed to frontline cause its cheeper and i can get it from vet uk
do i need to spray the house
if i do i,m going back to stronghold or frontline

Some people spray the house every 12 months, some dont, it depends on how much of a flea population your area has. You swapping to frontline will not effect anything.

All our fosterers spray the home once a year irrespective of what flea treatment used.

I dont spray anything unless its needed and also dont use stronghold regularily either. We dont have fleas and only use stronghold if they seem to have an ear problem, dont like medicating  often.

Obviously if there was a sign of a flea , stronghold would be on straightway but Sasa would be a major problem and without taking her to the vets, also major problem................dont want to have to think about this   

Think its too cold here for blooming fleas  brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Ive just moose sprayed the bathroom and getting a little light headed off the fumes.

That heading worried me for a minute! 

I used indorex last year and choked on it too. I haven't seen any fleas this year but have replaced a lot of the carpet with wood floors. Also strongholding them religiously - I guess the warm weather (if we get any) will tell

I do an annual spray at the beginning of summer anyway as it's prime flea season (and Indorex kills any eggs that get laid in carpets etc as fleas take up to 24 hours to die after biting cat with Frontline) also the cats can't be Frontlined now for a few months so spraying the house with a flea spray that will kill any fleas if I should bring any into the house from outside is a good idea.

stupid question but ... your cats are covered anyway so why treat the house unless its necessesary

I know many people who spray their homes once a year although their cats are treated on a regular basis.

All our fosterers spray the homes with Staykill once a year as a precaution.  We even spray all the barns/sheds where the ferals hang out once a year.

I nearly had an asthma attack from flea spray too  its awful - and it STINKS!

I have found IF you catch the cats in time when you first notice a little bitter on them you dont have to do the house. I have only had to do the whole house when they were really bad and that was the days I thought all the cheeper stuff worked, that was when I got my first cats.

Now if they have fleas I frontline them all stright away and thats that done, I wash bedding and stuff they have layed on just to make sure.

When i used it last year it did catch my throat abit but not too bad.

Dear god I've just nearly died from spraying the lounge and hallway with Indorex spray and I've still got the cubby, bedroom and cat bedding to do yet (ok died is a bit of an exaggeration it's just made me have a nasty asthma attack that's all)  I wish they'd make a 'bomb' version like some of the cheaper makes of flea stuff do as that would be much better as you just take the lid off them and leave them to spray themselves around the room whilst you're not in it.

Just had a thought, do I need to turn the sofabed cushion over and spray the underside of it as well (I usually just do the side facing upwards)? Would it be worth giving the human bedding a spray too? (we haven't got fleas btw I'm just doing my annual spray but need to be extra thorough as I can't Frontline the mob for next few months)

So glad I only have to do this once a year!
