Betsy, Ragdoll X, seeks new home
« Reply #1 on: July 21, 2007, 12:26:50 PM »
Betsy is a female long haired Ragdoll type cat. She is about 8 years old.

She is a freindly, loving cat, who loves cuddles and loves to sit on a knee for as long as she can. Betsy has a sensitive tummy and in the past vet tests showed she had blood in her faeces, confirming irritable bowel or colitis. Her owners were advised to feed a prescription diet specifically for sensitive stomachs, but they have another cat and find this difficult. As a result Betsy has been fed an inappropriate diet, which has led to her having very loose stools and probably a great amount of pain and spasm in her bowel. The discomfort in her tummy has led to her toileting away from the tray, probably because she now associates the tray with the bowel pain she has.

Betsy needs a home as an only cat, where there are no young children. Here new owner needs to be willing to have her assessed by a vet and feed her the correct diet for her life. On an appropriate diet, Betsy is likely to produce more normal stools and be pain free, so that she uses her tray reliably again.

If you feel you can give Betsy the chance of a loving home and the support she needs to over come her tummy problems, please complete our online form.

Many thanks,
Helen
