5 years ago today, I took in my first cat while living on my own - I had toyed with the idea when my housemate moved out, but decided i wasn't going to, was going to just enjoy going out a lot instead. But then someone on the next street approached my neighbour (ex CP) and told her to find a home for his mum's cat or he would microwave her - she knew I loved pure white cats, so I 'acquired' her - they had to lend me tray, bowls, litter and food, bless them. She sadly only had 9 weeks with me, and the day after I had to go to the local CP to look into another, the house was just too quiet!! And then the week after went up to 3!! In that 5 years, I have had nearly 40 cats come through the doors, quite good for someone who wasn't going to get tied down with cats!!!
It is a slightly bittersweet day as well though, as the first 6 cats I 'owned' are now at the bridge, I know some will be with previous owners now. It certainly doesn't seem that long since I got Charlie (sadly, dont have any pics of her), but there are a lot of cats who should be grateful to her, they might not have had a chance otherwise. All the ones who are here today are all goign to get a special tea.
