Insuring a 10 y.o cat - advice

Both my 17-year-olds are insured with Tesco for a lot less than that. It's quite a decent policy for their age, too. It's always worth shopping around.

I'd check out terms of any new insurers very carefully.  An Insurer a few members have tried recently who seems to be able to broker very competitive deals is "Bought by Many" - you have to register to view deals, but they dont pester you, and they receive consistently good independent reviews.

That's a horrendous price for pet insurance, but often insurance varies by location too.  Our insurance premiums tend to be lower than a friend of ours in Gosport pays.

Helen check and see if the vet practice you use is running their own scheme, some are offering better deals & welcome older cats

That surprises me, Lucy turned 10 this year and despite them paying over £4k last year, hers only went up by £20 a year. You will struggle to find insurers willing to take on a 10 year old though.

I think I'll query the figures and see what happens, can't harm, can it?

I know this is a recurring question but I need advice.

Petplan has put the monthly premium up by about £50 because Bubz is over 10. Is it worth hunting around for a policy from another insurer? She is in good health as far as I and the vet who did her annual MOT. I don't know exactly how old Bubz is since she is a rescue cat ao she may be nearer 11 than 10.
