I had heard to it, tilly was tested when she was a youngster as her poo was really liquid (sorry I'm actually eating at the moment as well!) I'm glad to hear that archie has now got a diagnosis though Alison at least it means treatment

Thank you Heather  That is interesting as I had never heard of it :-:

He has taken his first treatment but later on had quite a bit of blood in his poo :( However, he does seem a bit livelier

I knew about this about 8 years ago when my cat was ill, she was a stable cat and used to drink out of puddles & troughs, not her water dish  but when I mentioned it to the vet she said its not very common in cats :-:  Hope Archie feels better soon  :Luv:

I had never heard of this today until Archie was diagnosed with it.

It is easily caught from a outside water source like a puddle, bowl of long standing water etc

This nasty organism causes diahorrea, gas, after it attaches itself to the intestine wall. Also, like in Archie's case blood in poo. It can cause cats and dogs to loose weight and their appetite.

I have put a link
