Wed like your opinion...
The Veterinary Medicine Directorate (VMD) is proposing making a new veterinary medicine category. This could affect many UK pet owners, potentially making obtaining some types of pet medicine such as Advantage, Advantix, Advocate, Frontline Combo, Frontline Spray and Stronghold easier to get. You may be able to repurchase from e.g. a pharmacy, without requiring a prescription or consultation from your vet.
This is your opportunity to make your opinon know.
We will present our findings to the VMD.

The VMD proposal is:
There is potentially a gap in the current classification regime. It arises where a
veterinary surgeon makes a clinical assessment (or diagnosis), determines which disease is present and, as a result, prescribes a medicine which is intended for ongoing treatment
Where a medicine could be used regularly over a given period of time, as originally directed by the veterinary surgeon but without further need for veterinary intervention, then none of the current categories seems suitable for the use of such a product in practice.
The more people who agree with it the more hope of of a positive outcome
