Lovely picture and interesting article.

I've had people say this sort of thing to me when I've been campaigning for animals. I usually ask them what childrens charity they volunteer for as I wouldn't mind helping out. They usually move on pretty quickly. I find it's the people who don't do anything who criticize.

Your cats rock  :coolpics: Thanks for the pics.

Thats the cat tree I wanted but could not afford. So I built one for them out of scrap timber and material. Not quitefinished yet but they love it

Looks like they're getting along well. Soon enough they'll be more comfortable with each other. Adorable!  :Luv:

That really is big!! The one we got this week is a bit small for Alfs but anything elose would have filled the whole lounge.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008HCK0RQ/ref=dra_a_cs_mr_hn_it_P1400_1000?tag=dradisplay0bb-21

The boxes are actually smaller than they look as the support poles are inside. The biggest one is OK for Cleo, Alfs doesn't stand a hope of getting in either of them!

Bella is a tubby midget so can easily fit in all the boxes and jess is only a kitten so she has lots of room.

good carpentry skills girls  :)

...i hope you weren't planning on doing any hooman stuff in that room ever!  ;D

Its in the kitchen and we just about managed to fit around the kitchen table, am hoping to put it in the living room at some point but may need to get rid of something first. Can barely move in the kitchen as pips new bike is being stored in there as well. Wonder if now is the time to mention buildingva conservatory :)

there new toy had arrived so me and pippa have put it together (dh told me to let him help tomorrow)  :naughty: i'm impressed with how stable it is , only ordered it on monday and it arrived today from germany. dh would have been swearing at the instructions but me and pips figured it out, bella and jess love it, was concerned about jess getting down from the top but she manages fine, although couldn't fit the top scratching post as the celing is to low  (and yes the clock on the wall is wrong, waiting to see how long it will take dh to change the batteries its been a week so far)

Thanks Sam, jess was a bit sleepy for a day but chaos has now returned.  Bella has started cleaning jess, she puts a paw on jess back to keep her still and doesnt let her move till shes happy jess is clean

Bella has started walking upto me for a stroke and is purring at me again, think shes forgiven me, jess even purrs when shes asleep. There getting very cheeky as a pair and im now finding myself calling them Bess when their getting up to mischief  together

I was hoping I might get a photo overload of these two here  ;D

they look so settled with each other, lovely to see them sleeping so close (i can imagine Jess slowly letting her paws rest on bella). it was good to see you all and get a good report when Jess came back to 'the nasty lady' for her injection  :)
xx

your cat TV looks very good too!

there very well settled in now, we've even started leaving them together when we go out. we did trial letting them both come upstairs on a night but two hours of them chasing each other up and down and jumping on the bed and there now sleeping downstairs. If jess stays with Bella she doesnt cry for us so nicer for everyone, bella now gives jess a good washing when she thinks she needs one.
Mmm fish

sleepy time

cant believe jess has only been here 2 weeks, she's settled in well even though its been a bit of a rough time. the week we got her dh's grandad took a turn for the worst and died so she was left more then i had anticipated (although we are talking hours not longer). She is a star and i think Bella is enjoying having her here to play with. The way there running around i hope Bella runs of some of her extra good girl dreamies  :naughty:

i've not left them together when ive gone out yet so at some point will have to brave that, they spend most of the time racing round the house, this afternoon they had lots of fun in a paper bag and empty box. Bella has given Jess a smack on the head a few times, normally when jess has decided jumping on bella from great height is fun or when using bellas tail as a chew toy. Bella appears to have forgiven dh completly now but im still in her bad books, so only meows/purrs at me when she wants food but still spends the night asleep on my feet. We keep Jess downstairs during the night as im scared i might roll on her during the night and squish her, Bella has enough sense to sleep at the bottom of the bed and is a lot bigger, but jess hates being shut downstairs so may have to brave upto letting her sleep upstairs as well.

now we had planned a very slow and gradual introduction, we'd divided the house sorted jess out in the kitchen, but dd went into the kitchen saturday evening and jess ran into the living room. Bella hissed abit but then just ignored her so we just let jess explore and they got this close (we have got a feliway diffuser pluggged in)

watching the hamster and starting to play together

yesterday, bella is letting Jess creep closer when there sleeping

today they've been like a heard of elephants running up and downstairs, playing with each other taking turns to chase each other (no hissing or anything so am happy there playing) and tonight Jess got this close to sleeping next to Bella

Bella has been really accepting of Jess but has been completely ignoring me and dh (she still loves dd) she is slowly coming round  and will now purr when i stroke her, she sat on dh's knee for the first time last night since Saturday and im sure she'll forgive me sooner or later. Jess is a complete monkey she loves human company and is so loving its unbelievable. Very pleased how well they've settled it together
