On my way out yesterday evening I found a dis-embowelled mousie in the hall, so I got rid of it and carried on my way. When I got home I switched on the hall light - and the place looked like a murder scene with blood all over the floor and  even on the walls!

It all depends on the cat. Some cats are more of a hunter than others.

KittyNic,

Possibly but I have never tried. I went to our friends house to visit yesterday. They have 2 cats who are both inside/outside cats and they were in the grass and they had just hunted down a bird. They were both playing around with it and tossing it around. I guess they do this a lot.

Jess - Would pre-emptive anti-histamines help negate the effects if you know you're going to visit the cats?

Slugsta,

Your kitties are silly haha. I don't mind it since I don't see the cats everyday.

Hello and  :welcome:

My son is also very allergic to cats - we didn't realise how bad until he left home and came back for a visit! We do try to keep the spare room cat-free but, of course, that just makes the cats more determined to get in there somehow. Like you, our son can't resist having a cuddle and play with the cats when he is here, soon followed by red, itchy, watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing and asthma  :(

In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

Hi Kittynic, I'm really allergic. Our friend has two cats and when I go over there it takes about 20 minutes before a need a burst of fresh air. But then I can't take it and I hold the little guys and then I go full fledged allergic reaction(scratchy eyes, water eyes, stuffy nose, sneezing, and I break out in hives) ...it was worth it haha :wow:

 :welcome: to Purrs, Jessica!

My Stuart is allergic to cats, but took me on with two (Sam and Codex) and we now have five cats between us (Jacob, Munchkin & Chutney). He took anti-histamines and built up his immunity to them and now he only really reacts if he gets scratched by ours.

How bad is your allergy?

Hi All,

I am excited to Join the group. Unfortunately I do not have any kitties but I just love them! I actually torture myself because I am allergic but I can't help but pet and hold them! I can't wait to see all your fur balls!
Thanks for reading ~Jessica  :Luv:
