I think they are stressed by the new surroundings, cats are clever and maybe the unpacked boxes are worriworrying them.

sounds like a job for some feliway plug ins

Peeing in new house!
« Reply #1 on: November 18, 2013, 19:27:03 PM »
I recently moved house. My five cats are not at all settled yet - neither am I - and have started peeing amongst the boxes and bags waiting to be unpacked, instead of in their litter trays. My guess is that they're trying to make the new house smell like the old one, which I don't really want them to.

The doors in this house don't shut very well so they can easily be pushed open by a cat paw, making it impossible to shut them out of certain rooms. I'll have this attended to eventually.

Meanwhile, I'd be grateful for ideas about stopping the random peeing.
All my cats are neutered/spayed.
 :thanks:
Cats were once gods; they have never forgotten this, nor have the people they own.
