Since April the Royal Mail had a mad idea to increase the cost of sending a parcel from £2.70 to £5.65!!! if it was over a ridiculous small size of 16x16x16 or 45x35x8 cm. What a price hike!! and bad news for any auctionners covering the cost of their item to the winner.
Thankfully from 1st November they changed the small parcel size to either 35x 25x16cm or 45x35x8cm so we can send parcels a bit bigger now for the cheaper price! £3.00 for 1st class and £2.60 2nd class.
My Hermes - courier service (3 to 4 working days) prices start at £4.20 so if any parcel cost with Royal Mail is over that, then cheaper to send by My Hermes.

To work out how much stuff costs to post have a look at this chart - if it's from 0.5cm up to 2.5cm (approx as thick as a DVD wrapped in a jiffy bag) it's a large letter, if it's thicker than 2.5cm it's a packet etc...
