Sorry to have to welcome you to Purrs at such a worrying time  I know it must feel like an absolute eternity but is still early days yet, there are so many stories of cats coming home after weeks, months and years away - have everything crossed that you're not waiting much longer

I would think it very very unlikely that a fox or owl had 'got him', at 5 he's a fit and healthy youngster and being a Maine Coon am guessing he's on the larger side, you do hear of rare cases of foxes v cats but the cat is generally poorly/elderly and an 'easy target'.

There's a big long list of hints and tips on things you can do to help find him here, there might be one or two you haven't tried yet

http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,305.0.html

An idea I had for if my cat is ever lost is to park your car for the whole day in the first space outside a big supermarket or similar and literally plaster every square inch in missing posters - people who wouldn't normally stop and look at posters on lamposts etc can't help but notice a very strange looking poster/car! Is there a supermarket or similar near where he went missing from? This would increase your target audience by hundreds if not thousands of viewers.

Another avenue to explore is facebook, I'm not on there myself but it hasn't escaped me how massive it is nowadays and how things can go viral so easily so if you're on FB get posting and ask people to share.

This is so sad and think you have had a lot of snow up there, it may jave affected his mapping skills.

If tou look the top in Lost abd found cats you will find a list of things to do.

I do hope you find him

I'm sorry to hear that Cougar is missing :(
Never give up hope...there are many stories of missing ones who come home after weeks or months so I really hope he does that very soon.
I can't imagine how awful it is when one of your loved pets is missing so sending you hugs and come home vibes for Cougar

Hi Everyone
I was advised to sign up to the site by a kind person who emailed me having seen my advert in Gumtree for my missing cat Cougar.
He's a beautiful 5 year old Silver and White Maine Coon and he went missing from home on 5th March.
We have put posted leaflets everywhere, knocked on doors, registered him missing with his microchip database, put his details on 3 national missing pet registers....... But none has called.
We are devastated and living day to day in grief at losing him...he was the life and soul of our party.
His housemates Merlin (black Moggie 14yrs) and Squirrel (maine coon 12yrs) are really missing him too.
We keep thinking he'll just crash through the cat flap chirruping as if nothing has happened, but every day that becomes more unlikely.
He is very fit, athletic and hyper alert - he wouldn't let a stranger anywhere near him outside of the house.
But he's also my soft baby boy and I hate to think he's in trouble somewhere.....
Please spread the word.....
We live in a country village, Padfield in Derbyshire and he went missing overnight so we're worried that maybe a fox or large owl got him....we have scoured all the local fields and hedgerows for signs of a struggle or a body. Nothing.
