Yes down is hard for most cats cos claws are not designed to come down and is why cats get stuck up trees.

Lupin however has worked all that out and comes down backwards so claws work to grip..............why is he so bloomin clever............sigh............birmans are supposed to be intelligent but think he has an overactive IQ  :innocent:

 :evillaugh: trust you Mary!

I did see Dexter coming down it yesterday after I had been out shopping. He still struggled doen it, not putting ONE PAW on the bloomin shelves!!!  >:(

Gill, they get up it fine, its the coming down part that they (Dexter) finds a bit tricky!

I should of got a photo of Denzel 'helping' me..... ie climbing up the other side while I was trying to do my handy work - such  nosy kitty  :sneaky:

I know, the wood looked smaller when I attached it to the brackets!  >:(

I might cut some bigger bits and stick them on there instead...

Our neighbours cat uses the trellis on our side of the garden to climb on to the fence to get home.   It was quite odd seeing her do it for the first few times..     She does it all the time now much to my cats consternation.     They watch her as they snooze in their beds as few inches away

Well kind of!

My OH thinks I'm nuts, but I had a productive day yesterday adding some shelves to our trellis so that Dexter can get up and down from the bedroom window a lot easier.

OH said even if I put a stanna stair lift outside for dexter he would still manage to fall off it!

Apologies if the photo is side ways, I never know which way round it is going to post!
