We got Gilbert, our Persian from my friends' rescue shelter. He was 2 and we had just lost our little Persian rescue girl to PKD. Gilbert is one big cuddly bear of a boy! THE most gentle cat I have ever known. After a couple of months he decided he loved me more than anyone else - and I can't move for him. He trots around the house after me wherever I go.
Even if he looks fast asleep, as soon as I change rooms - so does he. He isn't a big fan of 'outside'
- much prefers my knee and when I go out he sleeps on my side of the bed until I get home.
His original Mum dumped him in a raggy mess at the shelter,
after ringing and saying she wanted rid of him as she had moved in with her boyfriend and Gilbert was locked in her bathroom as her boyfriend had a little staffie that hated cats. So and he had to have all of his beautiful coat shaved off.
We were lucky enough to find each other and have never looked back.
Gilbert LOVES my other boy, Hugo - He wanders round after him appalled at the stuff he gets up to
(but I think he secretly loves it all). He does enjoy his daft half hour of 'the chase game' in the evenings, when they both take turns in tearing up and down the stairs after each other though. Gilbert never puts a paw out of place, never knocks things over or scratches carpets and furniture, never climbs the curtains. He spends all day looking beautiful, purring at 150 decibels, cuddling into me and polishing his halo
He's a gorgeous boy
