I wouldn't mind if they were providing that service - but they just 'play' with the poor blooming things!

we would be enclosing some of the mice in, as I KNOW we have some under the shed!

I think your cats are providing a mouse-control service. Do you want your garden and under your shed over-run by mice?  :scared:
Cats were once gods; they have never forgotten this, nor have the people they own.

Cats learn to move without letting the bell ring unless they are a bit dim  :shify: :shify:

Mice are just very dim sadly

I dunno Gill, I dont think they have caught anything while they have worn a collar  :shify:

Scooby, its not worth cat proofing our garden, its pretty quiet, and plus we would be enclosing some of the mice in, as I KNOW we have some under the shed!

Mice with common sense! Mine are just plain stoooopid!

I dont think collars will stop them mice catching tbh cos mice just tempt them too much  :evillaugh:

Our latest efforts seem to have solved our mouse / bird issue.
In the past I lost two of my beloved kitties on the road, after that, letting my cats out to wander worried me so much, so we decided that it was safer to have an outside area enclosure - that way the boys still get to run around outside and play 'out' they just can't go out and about  :stop:
So now not only do I not worry about traffic anymore but the birds are safe - and any mice seem to have the common sense not to stray into cat territory! Much to Hugo and Gilbert's disgust  >:(

Little update - I had to take the collars off at the weekend cos the scratching was driving us all mad!!! They dont usually react so bad, so will try some different ones...

Well the cats were locked in last night, but let them out this morning about 7.30. Denzel was out all of 15mins and came in with another one  >:( alive again... Left OH to sort it out this time tho  :evillaugh:

Emergency trip out at lunchtime methinks for some scritch-free collars  :scared:

He deserved much more than that!

 It never even crossed my mind to keep them in at night, but I think I'll see if they calm down with the scratching first. They have had collars on before, but have of course lost them eventually!

The first time OH woke me up on a Sunday morning saying 'Emma, theres a mouse in the bedroom, BYE am going to work!'  >:( it took me hours to catch the little  :censored:

Sorry, I know it's not a laughing matter but couldn't help it  :evillaugh: Your OH deserves  :smack:

Are the mice mainly brought in overnight? If so it might be worth trying to keep them in at night so less opportunity to bring you back such lovely pressies!

In the spring/ summer they only brought dead ones back in..... I know it sounds awful, but I'd rather they WERE dead  :( instead they just terrorize and 'play' with the poor little things  :(

Oh dear

I know when Misa and Sasa used to bring one in occasionally it seemed to be dead to them and then suddenly would get up and start running.

My two then went crazy chasing the poor little thing grrrrrrrrr

In the last couple of months, someone  :shify: has brought a couple of LIVE mice into our bedroom  >:(

There was a few brought in earlier last year, but they were always dead. I didnt think it was 'hunting season' at the minute???! Unless because its been a milder winter this year?

The first time OH woke me up on a Sunday morning saying 'Emma, theres a mouse in the bedroom, BYE am going to work!'  >:( it took me hours to catch the little  :censored:

Yesterday morning I was woken up with the 2 of them running around like idiots, and lo and behold there was another one.

So the collars have gone back on, but now have to put up with the 2 of them scratching around their necks and jingling everywhere they go!
