I received a terribly upsetting call on Friday morning regarding a little black tom I was helping to rehome. His name was Bear Bear, and he was around 15 weeks old.
Bear Bear went to have his neuter and chip a little earlier than a lot of cats, because it was felt it would be to his advantage on intros into his new home.
Sadly, despite his pre op check bringing up nothing out of the ordinary, Bear Bear suffered a reaction to the anaesthetic and attempts to revive him proved unsuccessful. It's possible that the reaction was due to an underlying health issue that would not have been picked up on the health check.
This little boy was rather a shy, loving lad who enjoyed his prawns. He liked the company of other cats a great deal and I feel he would have loved his new "sister" when he got to the home that was waiting for him.
Rest Easy, Bear Bear. You've touched more peoples lives than you knew and you were already loved by so many.
