I guess it doesn't matter which male is responsible, once you've had her spayed it won't be an issue, they are very cute kittens, good that they are staying with you

such good news that you are keeping them

I would be checking the neighbours cats bits n bobs lol to see if they are neautered or not..at the end of the day though you have a 2 lovely kittens and a proud mummy cat that are all going to live with you so its a happy ending for a change!!

Make sure mum is done asap though as girls can get pregnant again very quickly and although two kittens are cute, a household of them could turn into a nightmare

Yes we are keeping them both, I just love them too much, can't imagine giving them up

No, we haven't shown the neighbour, he said his black and white male is about 15 years so he doesn't think he would even get a cat pregnant! I defiantly think they are the culprits Lol! At least we know where the dad comes from. Also I have never seen a ginger kitten around here apart from that one.

I have no experience of this, but obviously they are going to start exploring. Like Lorna did probably keep them confined to one room and let them have a wander, but just make sure its safe for them.

When our kittens were this age they were in a large wire cage supplied by cats protection who we were fostering for, (the sort often used for dogs), I hated keeping mum cooped up in there so I left the door open and fixed a barrier around the front to give them a bit more space, eventually though the kittens learned to climb up the wire so I had no choice than to let them 'free range' rather than risk them getting their little paws stuck and breaking something.

I had them confined to one room to start with with a wooden gate across the door about 24 ins high but eventually even that did not contain them, kittens can be very resourceful, as you will discover..........

Mow Mow is getting nervous because their getting better on their feet and keep attempting to climb out of the wash basket their in, I was thinking of putting them in a toy box? What do you think? Just so she can chill out a bit.

Mow mow is their mum, there are 2 male cats 4 doors down from us and one is pure ginger the other black and white, but their owner swears they were neutered, but I'm not too sure I think they are the dads maybe both or just one, and he doesn't want to say in case we asked him for something.

I wouldnt worry, so long as they are fed and healthy its all you could wish for. Mom sounds very loving so thats great

Try looking at the link above for instructions to post pictures, its quite easy - even I can do it

When we fostered a Queen and kittens last year Mum would pick them up and half carry - half drag them back into her box, but never would she bring them out, your girl obviously trusts you a lot if she wants to bring her kittens to you

As they get heavier I guess she will have to grip harder with her teeth hopefully she will have them trained to follow her by then

I seem to remember that the free range kittens stage was quite stressful - I was constantly going through the house doing head counts

Their 2 weeks today.

We do bring her basket in the lounge with us on a night. But, she just likes to pick them up

How old are the kittens?

When I fostered last year the Mum cat didn't carry the kittens around at all. They were about 3 weeks old when I got them. I think they were following her around by the time they were 5 or 6 weeks. Can't you help her out and bring them into the lounge when you're watching tv in the evening?

She is quite a small cat anyway, but they are getting quite big now and she brings them into us when were watching TV on a night, but she struggles to carry them, she even tries rolling them across the floor!

I guess I'm worried they will become to big for her to look after.
