They're a kind bunch of people at Lordswood Jo

Whilst terribly upsetting, condolence cards do help us with the general coming to terms of a loss

I had a small card come through the door today, when i opened it up it was a hand written condolence card from lordwood vets saying how sorry they were about Mo :'(

it was a lovely gesture but made it seem so real too, think i have been trying to block it out a bit...i do miss her, stinky breath and all :shy:

we covered the spot back up with some moss and branches so it looked undisturbed..i know a determined fox would probably notice but if it happens , it happens  :scared:....her soul is well gone i believe and if recarnation is a reality then a pray that her next life is a long pain free one but for now i hope in my heart that Mo is running free at last :shy:
I feel glad i did the trek for her and my bones feel ok this morning!! no where else nearby looked right, too many people etc, and when we got nearby the famhouse a load of ducks went by all chattering like jemina puddleduck or something loool, it made william and i smile so i felt that was a good omen :shy:

Think paving stones might be a bit much for Jo to manage at the moment as she's only just got her new hip.

Like she says earlier in the thread, if it happens it's nature's way, and Mo is in a pretty little wood, not Jo's garden, so I think it'll be OK.  :care:

What a lovely resting place for a beautiful cat. Did you put anything on top of her resting place to stop the foxes digging? When my guinea pig died a few years ago the foxes dug him up and left him on the middle of the lawn >:(. I reburied him twice more and they still dug him up! I ended up putting a paving slab across the top of his grave which stopped them ;D

Im back without injury :shy:

i took my son with me as willow was too upset.

we got stopped up near the farm by a gay couple asking what we were burying and where abouts.....and they suggested that i was better off burying her at home as the foxes may dig :( I said i couldnt bury her at home as next doors kids are bound to dig her up as they dont repsect my garden so i thought foxes was at least more natural....
in the end we buried her next to an old oak as there was a man with a dog in the wood and my son wouldnt go in  :innocent: ( swear it was the youngest of the gay couple as they drove around the other farm entrance so probs thought i had body parts or something :innocent:). the oak is next to the blue bell wood though but stands proud in a a big wild flower field , the tree is next to a little stream too...it seemed a nice tree with a blue tit and a robin coming to visit and the sun was shining so beautifull that it seemed a good place to lie and rest.

we said our good byes an william was asking questions about PKD etc and said it was such a shame :(

oh said its terrible too and never seen she was in such pain till yesterday....after seeing the state mo was in and not able to walk from weakness etc i couldnt put her through it any more.
thankfully today the sun shines as beautiful as mo, i reckon theres some happy cats at the bridge today & Im sure that Mos one of them at last.

I'm sure you shouldn't be attempting this with your poorly hip Jo but I also understand that its something you feel you have to do, so take care.

It sounds an idyllic spot for Mo's final resting place.

didnt have no dreams though oddly this morning i felt something brush against my arm but none of the cats were there..id like to think it was mo :shy:

we are going to bury Mo later in a blue bell wood near my home...it is behind a farm which is only accessable via a very overgrown footpath so no one seems to go there, it however is at the end of a beautifull old bridle path and is surrounded by wild flower fields so it is a lovely place.
I want to imagine mo running free at last so im hoping in summer i will be able to go back and sit and imagine mo free from pain at last .
its a trek with my hip but will be the last thing i do for mo mo so i want it to be a nice place for her, somewhere wih rabbits and butterflys to chase :shy:

thanks all for your kind words, i will be remembering all the other cats that have gone to the bridge also this afternoon

So sorry  :'(

A shining star now in the heavens of the sky
just look up I'm still close by,
Beaming down on those that I love
I'm still here just in the heavens above.

Don't feel sad remember the happy times we shared
I will never forget how much you cared .

Please don't worry and try not to cry
I am with others here, we share the skies,

I am a diamond now, a twinkling light
I'm the first star you will see at night
just look up you will know it's me
For I will be the star that burns brightly.

My thoughts are with you

Its been said many times already but I'll say it again.  You gave her love and care when she most needed it and let her go when you saw that she was suffering without hope of recovery.  Nobody could have done more and I'm sure she knew she had hit the jackpot when she found you.   Rest easy Little Mo.

Thinking of you and your family Jo at this painful time.

thankyou all..in tears now as was numb before...i tried to keep strong for willow earlier, Michael my oh said she was so upset. willow can be stroppy and is useless at passing on phone messages :innocent: but she is such a loving girl and she was with mo such a lot that she devasted....she thinks she could have done more, loved more etc....ive had to say (even though i feel the same :-[) that we did as much s we could and mo was happy as best as she could be, it simply wasnt right for us to keep her hanging onto life like she has been not when she was in pain  :scared:
to question god i think at times like this is usless, i am livid at who ever bred mo with pkd linage, how many other mos are out there suffering all for the sake of one simple test  :censored:

i do so hope she is happy now at last and doesnt have to guard her food bowls anymore :shy:

Mo could never have found a more caring home and there was simply nothing that could have given her the prolonged quality of life that your family wanted her to enjoy.

You gave her the kindest gift you could.

You gave her the greatest gift of all today. When you looked in her eyes today you saw what she was asking and heeded her plea. She was loved and treasured in these past few months and known what love is. You should be very proud.
