I knew the potential new home had 2 dogs, which I understood to be docile and fine with cats - and I thought with the right intros, Sooty would be well able to cope. Unfortunately the dogs weren't docile when I visited lol! in fact one took an instant dislike to me, snapped at my arm and spent the whole time I was there, growling at me

the other one was quite boisterous, despite being elderly - probably both over excited by a stranger visiting - but I could see it wouldnt be fair on Sooty, at 7 yrs old, to have to learn to live with those two!

I was also concerned about the proximity of the road, a fast country road.

Such a shame, cos I know they would have loved him.

The family are lovely and I know they've got a lot of love to give the right cat, but its not right for Sooty I'm afraid

Might have a home for Sooty at last! Very nice family came to see him today, after reading my recent updated write up about him. They've recently lost their 17 yr old cat. They all loved him, and he wasnt at all worried about strangers being in his pen, he was loving all the attention I think

Doing homecheck tomorrow, pretty sure all will be fine, I have a good feeling about it.

Yes he is affectionate. Just doing a new write up for him - goes along the lines of:

UPDATE: Sooty says he’s been here far too long and would really like a new home now please. He’s a lively 7 year old and living in a cattery pen is seriously cramping his style! He’s a big cat, and boisterous with it – but he’s also got a soft side and he will nudge your hand when you stop stroking him, just too remind you he’s still there. He would suit a mature adult home, or a family where the children are 10 years plus, preferably where there are no other cats, as he can be a bit bossy with other felines!
