Hello everyone, we had a call last night from one of the vets in the Coventry area asking us to take in two 5 week old kittens and their Mum, who had been left in one of the RSPCA shops. They were taken to the vets by one of the volunteers. Why they didn't go to the centre, I do not know? Anyway, we were told they had sticky eyes - turns out to be a touch of 'flu. Generally a good size though.
Then we had just sat down to eat dinner and a member of the public 'phones telling me she has a stray Mum and kittens who had given birth in her home that afternoon.
Jiggle the foster volunteers around and then think about accommodation for them. We are stuck really for the very portable Shaws kittening pens. They are no longer manufactured, and we do like them, they are much the safest option when dealing with tiny kittens and inexperienced Mum cats.
So if you know of any spare Shaws kittening pens, or even the adult ones with the one central big door as opposed to the kittening ones with a door on the top slope and a door at the front, we would put them to really good use!
Thanks in anticipation, the Mums and kittens woud appreciate it, as would our foster families knowing their charges are safe and well contained!
