hi everyone,
sorry if have posted this in the wrong place but yesterday had spent a long time wondering which board to place this on as it isnt quite definite to post on the rehoming board but is around that topic,sorry if that doesnt make any sense.
am a resident of a residential home in cheshire/on the boarder of manchester and recently had come to notice a beautiful little black and white young cat in our front garden,she had made a nest for herself in our holly bush which is up against the building,so had never noticed her.
was told by staff they had seen her in the car park often but didnt realise she was staying in our place.
she is definitely under one years old,older kitten age is very likely,she is definitely not as set in her ways like an adult feral,as at one point had managed to gain enough of her trust to get up close and let her sniff hand without feeling threatened,she isnt as able to fend for herself like a feral adult either so we realy need to get her a loving place.
we have a farm with lots of rescued cats,chickens and other animals,and had managed to get the owner to agree to take aero on as long as am there every day but being in residential care; am not funded 'outdoor time' and have to go out with the others,which a risk assessment says no to,so we are back to the beginning of needing a place for her.
am extremely hopeful this little puss [whom we have nicknamed aero] coud be rehabbed well and become a good companion for someone who is willing to be patient with.
she hisses when gotten near but she is just genuinely in shellshock at her surroundings and being close to people,no aggresion.
we are not allowed to have cats inside the home because some residents woud be aiming agresion at them,am moving to a different place where woud have been allowed to take her but that placement does not go through for up to a year.
one of our support staff has said if he can get the initial vets fees sorted out or helped with,he will take aero on,him and his wife are huge animal lovers but had only just lost their lovely soppy boxer to cancer in the past few weeks and they are down on cash at the moment for vets fees as a result.
he has a friend who is a vet and is planning on speaking to her on monday to see if she can help out,so if the money side works out we do have a home at least.
sorry if the post is not to understandable,but am especialy wondering a few questions:
-if anyone woud be interested in taking on little aero,that woud be assuming our support staff is unable to take her on [depending on the vet answer he gets].
-if anyone woud be at all able to catch her for us,we do not have a trap-or know of where to borrow traps from,have personaly lived around and rehabbed ferrals for years at the family home but never had to catch one as we have kept them all,so have got no clue what to do,even when have researched it.
woud be so greatful if anyone coud reply with any ideas or help at all,thanks very much!
