So sorry to hear about Katie!

Layla is beautiful.

I lost one of mine 4.5 years ago and I still miss her so much.

Hehe - it's not nosey at all!

I volunteer for Wharfe Valley CP (North Leeds) but actually moved up to Durham a year ago. I help remotely with their website and web prescence.

I had contact the Durham CP a number of times and had no reply from them. My colleague then suggested Felledge as she had gotten her cats from there a few years ago. I have to say, although i'm not a fan of the main RSPCA and some of their policies, I was incredibly impressed with the cattery there - it was new, clean, friendly and really great at the whole proceedure!

It's weird because I have bonded with Layla, but Katie is still in my heart SO much! She died of a tumour in her intestine and the only signs were a week before she died she stopped eating as much. When I handed her over to the vets for test, I just knew there was something wrong and we ended up having her put to sleep the same day - such a shock  :'(

I was so glad to be there in the end and it was peacful for her and in a way i'm glad there were no choices to be made x we could have prolonged it for a few weeks with steroids, but it just wasn't fair x

Layla has brought a little bit of light into our lives after losing Katie. People said it was too quick, but I just felt like this gaping cat-shaped hole in our home!

Firstly, am very sorry to hear about Katie

Layla is absolutely gorgeous and it sounds like she's helping to ease the pain of losing Katie

When I saw the pics I did a double take as she is soooooo much like my Lucas  They are literally doubles of each other!

Well we lost our beloved Katie a month ago and Layla has been with us for nearly 3 weeks which has been a definate change going from an older 10 ten year old to a lively 3 year old!!!

She's lovely and has settled in great. She sleeps through the night in the kitchen (what a revalation that is!) and loves to play. She is still play biting us occasionally which we're trying our best to combat but we think it's only playing and she perhaps has not had any boundaries set before!

She came to the RSPCA in Felledge (Durham) with other cats who'd been starved within an inch of her life poor thing  :( But at least now we know that she will do anything for a treat!

The pictures don't really show off how light she is a how her fur changes colour at the ends (I think all tabbies do this, but i've been used to a tortie!)

We are possibly thinking about getting a companion to keep her company during the day but we'll haev to see!
