I once lost Dylan one morning as I was getting ready to leave for work. Looked in all his usual spots, shouted, rattled the treat box etc but eventually had to go to work not having found him although I knew he was in the house. Worried all day, rushed home as soon as I could, walked through the door and up he comes to greet me as if to say what was all the fuss about! To this day I've no idea where he was.

Phew!!! Naughty Jaffa, you should ration his dreamies as punishment!

I know exactly how you must have felt, had that a few times with the boys - worst one was when I had to stay in hospital overnight after an op on my nose with a GA so my Mum stayed here. I came back home groggy from the anaesthetic and couldn't find Riley, I caled and called and looked EVERYWHERE. My Mum was adamant that she hadn't let him out... except she had seen a grey and white cat near the house when she left to come and pick me up and thought it was an unusual colour  The little sod was behind the curtain  :evillaugh:

Shame on Mosi for not letting you know where Jaffa was  ;)

So glad he hadn't got out Susanne.

A while ago I couldn't find Bonnie and I'd not had the door open that day and remembered giving him his morning Dreamies so I knew he was somewhere but my heart had sunk as far as my toe nails

Not in kitchen, not in living room, not under the stairs, not in frnt or back porch, not in bathroom, not in spare bedroom, not in my/our bedroom.  Where the chuff was she?

Then I remembered Joyce saying she couldn't find her one day when I was in Italy - she found her in my walk in wardrobe which I had left open when I got my suitcase out and was still open now cos I was trying to sort out a load of stuff for the charity shop - my walk in wardrobe is used to store stuff and a junk room   There she was sat on an old coat that was nice and warm  :Luv2:

Looked at me as to if say "what do you want?"

I always panic a bit when I can't find either of them but usually I know that they must be somewhere in the flat and my main worry is that whoever is missing is ill and is lying somewhere collapsed!  But this time I really thought Jaffa had got out and was so worried about him.  Normally he comes to greet me when I come in, or at least lifts his head to acknowledge me, but I think that because he doesn't hear too well now he didn't hear me come in as he was asleep.  He doesnt understand what all the fuss is about and poor Mosi was very puzzled because he only got a brief greeting before I realised Jaffa was "missing" and was walking around calling for him (I bet Mosi thought I was a right lunatic not being able to see Jaffa!)

Hope you are currently sipping something and remembering to breathe, we have that problem in the morning with some of the house cats and the feeling a stopping breathing and blind panic is one I am familiar with

Nice to know at 14 he can still get the better of his Mum ;)

So pleased he is safe and sound and understand the worry

I had to go out all day yesterday and Sasa was missing again, she hadnt been in over night and eaten, she wasnt in the greenhouse and went out shouting to no avail, its pretty useless cos she will stay well away if I call for her.

I was so relieved to see some of her food eaten when I got back around 2300 and then I saw her..............such a bloomin relief!

I've just had the most stressful, most traumatic 15 minutes ever.   I nipped down to Morrisons for something half an hour ago and when I got back I did the usual head count, like you do.  Neither of them falling over themselves to greet me but I suppose I had only been gone 20 mins.  Head count was 1 - Mosi.  so where was Jaffa.  I looked on the tv, on the bed, under the bed, behind the sofa - everywhere.  At that point panic set in as it always does when you think you've lost a cat.  I tried calling him but Jaffa is a bit hard of hearing so  no joy there.  So I checked everywhere again and again and then I really did panic.  I worried that he'd nipped out the door as I came back in (he often is at the door to greet me) or had escaped an hour earlier when someone came to the door.  It got to the point where I actually went outside and had a look around and knocked on my neighbour's door to ask whether they had seen him.  I then went back inside and was just about to lose it completely when a little ginger head peeked out from the top of the bookcase.  There is a fleece on top of there but it's partially hidden behind a lamp.  God knows why I didn't look there because he has taken to sleeping there lately.   I am too relieved to feel stupid.  Jaffa is 14, never been outside in his life and is almost deaf.  So the idea of him getting outside terrifies me.  Not usually any chance of it happening but I really though it had happened tonight.  I'm still shaking.
