it will be protecting the young time, seagulls do it but can cause serious damage to pets, my daughters friend has a big scar from one that attacked her in the pram :Crazy:
feeding them doesnt help either im afraid as they become more bold. in brixham they let off a loud boom noise to scare them off every hour or two so maybe a loud clattering of pans may help.

Drum argues with them and so far all they've done is sit on the fence and squawk at her. However, I wouldn't put it past them to go for her one of these days. She has no fear, having been an indoor cat all her life she's probably not encountered them before.

Apparently they scare easily so chasing them away a few times might make them less likely to hang around your garden.

Could this be something that happens at certain times of year? If they have young they are more aggressive. Has it been going on long? Our cat got trapped under our car one day by a dive bombing seagull we had to go out and rescue her, there was no way it was letting her out. It was because she had a baby nearby.

one of my neighbours has an air rifle and wants to kill them but ive told him not to cause obviously we want to try avoiding causing them harm

No idea I'm afraid but I remember vividly a hapless cat many years ago that caught a baby magpie in our garden once.  This poor cat was harassed for the rest of it's life by magpies - you knew when it was out as the magpies would be heckling it and divebombing it.   They were very determined and unrelenting in their assaults.  No other cat was bothered, just the one that caught the baby.

every time chiana goes anywhere near the garden the magpies start going for her so much so that when it was time for her to come in i found her stuck up the tree she uses to get to and from the field as far as i know she hasnt gone for their nest (i could be wrong) shes not usually interested in hunting birds she prefers butterflies lol but i seriously need a solution for this problem i cant leave her to get stuck up a tree every day and i cant go get her out of it every day does anyone have any ideas for me to use?
