Our babes cover things up so well, you have nothing to feel guilty about   When we're with them all the time subtle changes can be hard to see, you are not a bad meowmy at all   so don't you dare say that  :lalala:

That's why I really wish animals could talk   You really can't feel guilty though Sam - you realised something was wrong but as we know with cats they can be so different to their usual selves one day and then back to normal.

The most improtant thing is that he's ok now and sooooooo cuddly

Aw don't blame yourself.  Cats are so good at hiding things and when things happen gradually you don't always notice.

Just a little update on the boy ..... I am actually feeling like a very bad mummy at the moment.

It's just over a week since Zephyr had his tooth removed and  to say he is a new cat is a major understatment.  He is 100% more cuddly, and he has always been a loving boy, he has put on weight and he actually looks happier.

The reason I'm feeling like a bad mum is that I now realised the poor bby must have been in pain and feeling down for a while and I never really noticed.  I thought he had lost a bit of weight but I put that down to the warmer weather and him going out more (I guess it was actually down to the fact he wasn't eating as much :( )

In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

He's desperate to go out but I'm not letting him go until I'm sure he is completely over the anaesthetic.

My baby is back home ... very wobbly but otherwise OK.  He has had a pouch of felix AGAIL and is now resting on the sofa.  I'm £125 poorer but happy my boy is OK.

Ahh, poor Zephyr -i know how he feels -i am in same situation -infected broken tooth and not having it out till 18th August as its done in hospital again.

I am sure he will be fine and feel much better after - Sophie had 3 out and 2 growths removed and was fine in 48 hours and she is over 17 .

Good luck and my bill was almost £400  - but i took Fifi as well as she had a sore mouth but never found explanation for it !?

Aaw poor Zephyr - it must be annoying him if he's pawing at it - so best to get it out.

Sure he'll be ok Sam but it doesn't stop you worrying, I was there the other week as you know

Good luck Zephyr and hugs to you Sam.

Oh poor little lad :(  He will be fine though - Jaffa had a tooth (or two - I cant remember!) out when he had his dental a few years ago.  Didn't know until they got a good look in his mouth.

My little man has got to have a tooth out.  I noticed last week he had bad breath but didn't worry too much about it.  Then at the weekend I noticed he was pawing at his mouth and kept lifting his whiskers/lip up.  Then yesterday he looked really sad and didn't want to go outside (definately out of character for him).  So off we went to the vet.

It turns out he has a broken back tooth that seems to be infected  :(  So he is on a course of antibiotics and then next tuesday he is gonna have to go and have ir removed.

Cost me £43 today and probably gonna cost £120 next week  :scared:
