The members of Purrs are the Judges and if there is a tie a panel of jusges will decide .

The top cat will be judged by Colonel Beau from Cat Chat, our sister site and where most of us first met  ;D

I'm going to have to get busy with the camera!  I've not been able to upload any to pc because of dud USB lead for a while so have got out of the habit of stalking the poor things with the camera but I've now got a universal card reader and some new camera batteries so there's no escaping me now  ;D

Which is how having the age set for after the entry date makes no sense, for the reasons Dave posted - his cat will be younger than the category she will be then, so the pics are of younger cats.

Thanks Gill, I think I get it now!  If you are entering the age categories the photograph entered must be:

i) Taken during a period when they were that age ie) in my case any photos of Tiggy aged 16 or over are acceptable for the purrfect pensioners class.

ii) The class entered must correspond with the age of the cat now/when they crossed to the Bridge

No not a daft question at all  ;D

In all age categories the age must be current so for Tiggy it would be age 18yrs and picture for an age category must be for that age.

Any other category, say gorgeous gingers, would be any age in a picture...........um there isnt a gorgeous ginger category , just  ginger/red one

I think you have wonderful pics of 18yr old Tiggy so this shouldnt be a problem for you and I know you have loads of others but dont know age  and there are so many categories to choose from.

So to clarify for Bridge cat owners , the age at which they passed to the Bridge would be their current age and thats the age needed in a pictuire for and age related category only. Bridge cats are being treated the same as any other cat, so the age classses and age in pictures for them apply in the same way.

I hope thats clear Helen but if not ask me another and I will try answer so it clear  ;D

My query is much the same, but at the other end of the age range. Bramble will be a year old this April but most of my photos of her will have been taken before then. If I enter pics of her as a 1 year old she'll have an unfair advantage, as she still looks like a kitten.

Sorry for being a bit thick but I'm still a bit confused!  If Tiggy was alive now she would still be 18 which is the same age she went to the Bridge so her being a Bridge babe isn't whats confusing me with the age thing.

Say the cat show had happened in January this year, she would have been 18 so therefore I would have entered her in the purrfect pensioners category - would the pic have to be of her when she was old enough to be in that category ie) one taken when she was 16 or over or can I enter any pic - say one taken when she was 5?

Thanks and sorry  :shy:

Ela, thats just plain daft sorry!

You cant vote for all  cats so effects of a vote cant be wiped out.

This is a cat show and we need winners and if everyone on Purrs refuses like you to enter into the spirit oh the show and vote then we make no money for Minimopsical and we also have no fun.

If people dont vote the panel of judges is gonna have to work very hard, are you trying to scupper the Cat Show Ela?

I am afraid I personally will not be voting, there is no way I could pick out one cat above another. If I voted for one I would feel guilty and then give them all a vote therefore wiping out the effect of my vote.

The aim is for it to be good fun, better than a general election

Indeed, a fun way to raise money and support for Minimopsical's care.

The aim of this Cat Show is to raise loads of money, to do this we need loads of interest. Soooooooooo by having a week of canvassing before the voting begins this will hopefully bring on board as many of Purrs members as possible. It should be a manic week which leads straight into the voting. It is not compulsary and will be just good natured fun, if you do not want to be involved you dont have to but I bet the thread will have loads of posts and even more reads  :evillaugh:

The aim is for it to be good fun, better than a general election, and i am sure that owners who want votes for their cats will be quite imaginative, within the rules

You do not have one vote in each category you have 3 and that is why people can use one vote for their own cat. I did write that correctly in the rules didnt I?

I am sorry you do not like the age class rules but they are staying as written...................its an even playing field, everyone works to the same rules love em or hate em  ;D

Ah right - I would have just thought it woudl be the date of the competition, not 2 months later, as some cats will then be technically in the wrong category.
I just dont understand it - why would you want people to be able to go on about their cats before the competition, surely it should go off the picture they see for that category, nothing else? And the fact that we can have one vote in a category is wrong in my opinion, you shouldnt' be allowed to vote for your own cats.
