Honestly, I thought cats were supposed to be relaxing to be around? Last night both Jaffa and Mosi gave a scare.
After getting home from work and doing the usual fusses, I got changed out of work clothes and then set about getting their tea. When it was ready, I couldnt find Jaffa. Now Jaffa is never far away when it's meal preparation time and is usually in the kitchen telling me to hurry up. Plus when I get in from work he tends to stick to me like glue in anticipation of lots of fusses. I checked all his usual places in the kitchen in case he was under my feet and I just hadn't noticed. But no, he was nowhere to be found. Must be using the litter tray I thought so I checked both trays and still no Jaffa. So I called him and no Jaffa responded. I was starting to get a bit panicky by then as it's not at all like Jaffa (he usually comes when I call him) and I wondered whether he'd dashed through the door as I came in but then I remembered fussing him after I'd shut the door. So I looked in all the corners, under the bed, behind the tv and no Jaffa. By that point I was getting really worried and assumed he must have collapsed somewhere so I was wandering around the flat calling him with increasing panic in my voice and just when I was totally freaked out he wanders into the living room from the kitchen all nonchalant and relaxed. I still have no idea where he was and can only assume he was hiding somewhere in the kitchen (on the window sill behind the tumble drier maybe) and moved as I was searching for him. Not easy to lose a cat in a one bed flat. He was probably one step behind me the whole time. Don't EVER do that again to me, Jaffa!! I was so worried about him.
Then at bedtime Mosi decided to get in on the act and go all quiet on me so that I was a bit concerned that he was unwell. He came to bed with me as normal and then at 4am he proved to me that he in fine fettle, especially with respect to his voice and running ability
