The feral family rescue was my own personal crusade which made me realise I can do it but just need the support of a larger organisation

Oh and guess who has already been nominated to be a feral fosterer...you guessed it...ME!!! Because I did such a good job at taming the kittens (thanks to lots of advice on here) and because I'm happy to work with ferals They do have a couple of other fosterers that work with ferals but they always need more!

CP will help you to be better at letting go. I'm hopeless and make every rescue a personal crusade,  which knocks me sideways when it doesn't work out.

Well I've passed phase one They can't see any problems in setting me up with a pen :D

Next step is to go over to the Fostering Co-ordinators house to see her set up, run through the fosterers pack and ask any questions.

The final phase is a visit from HQ to pass everything and sign off the finances...then the pen can be ordered. So maybe by the end of June, I might have my first official foster (all being well) :D

Aha, the slippery slope lol!  I started last year with two pens (room for around 4 cats at most), filled those up straight away. Then along came Chico, so converted my shed. Then came the handrear kittens, that was the grooming room taken up, then there was Coco and her three kittens, that was the computer room and dining room taken up..............   Good luck Steff

Er...5 now Gill but that's it now, no more!! The last two were under special circumstances I have told my CP lady that I will need her in the background saying NO Steff, these are CP cats and we decide where they go...they are going to a lovely home etc etc. I've no doubt it will be hard but I've got to do it 1. Cos CP say so and 2. So I can help more cats :D

I hears ya Helen :D I'll have to dig out my proper camera and learn how to get the photos onto my lappy by doing it the memory card way cos OH lost the cable!! I'll get him to show me cos it was his fault lol! I still haven't worked out how to get photos off my blackberry even with the lead...hence the lack of photos!

So, as you all know I kinda semi failed at rescuing and fostering the feral family. I say "semi-failed" because I did rehome Tia and TwoFace up at the farm but just couldn't part with Tyson and TT after all of those months of taming them down in my shed.

Before the massive FAIL with Tyson and TT, I did offer to become a fosterer for CP as they had kindly lent me the trap and kitten pen and help with the neutering of the adults and generally offered advice etc. I've been in regular contact with the lovely lady who helped me and she just called me today to arrange a first meeting with the branches fostering officer. We got that booked in for the 12th of April and if all goes well then I will have another visit with someone from HQ to pass everything and then I will get my pen and first foster!

Exciting...Scary...Exciting!!!
