Michelle, she wasn't a young cat and she wasn't going to get better was she? In fact, it was mentioned that she was having trouble eating dry food but once it was dampened she managed it.

I can to some extent understand the decision. She was unsteady and they couldn't make her well again. What I can't understand is the totally unprofessional handling of the whole situation by not one but two of the supposed top rescue organisations.

Poor Pru. But like I said, I know that the lad and his Mum who cared for her over the weekend genuinely did just that - they cared about her.

It seems Pru actually had feline leukemia not FIV.

That still makes no difference .... she just needed to be kept seperate from other cats as FeLV is past on in a different way from FIV
Its just too frigging easy to PTS and wash hands of these things

Poor old girl, at least she had a peaceful end.

RIP Pru.
You can't change the world by rescuing one cat, but for that one cat you are changing its world.

It gets a bit more easy to understand with the following information, but doesn't mean that  the rescue is any better as it gave out massively inaccurate information.

I called the vet used and asked them to check their records. It seems Pru actually had feline leukemia not FIV. But that's not what the people who cared for her all weekend were told.....a bit worrying really.

At least Pru had someone looking out for her at the end.

Was contacted by a friend at the end of last week about a grey cat loitering in his Mums garden. They cared for the cat until she was collected by a rescue yesterday. She tested positive for FIV and the rescue decided to let her go.

I called the old lady Pru and felt her passing should be acknowledged.

RIP Pru. People cared about what happen to you and I'm sorry you were let down.
