I haven't been on here for absolutely ages, but as you were all so supportive when Baldrick went missing at Christmas last year I thought I'd let you know he's had to be PTS.
He was 10 and a half, and had cancer - a tumour that was partly blocking his intestines plus spreading to other parts of his body. He had been a bit off colour for a couple of weeks, and was on antibiotics as he had been a bit snotty (which was normal for him - he had flu as a tiny kitten). So it was a huge shock when the vet said he'd got a lump, and at the next visit that lump had grown.
Sadly, when he went in for surgery the tumour(s) proved to be inoperable and he wasn't woken up. I was with him when he had the last injection - I don't suppose he knew I was there but I am glad I was although (as you can imagine) I left the surgery in floods of tears.
Nearly 2 weeks on and we're both (OH and I) still missing him like mad - the flat is so quiet without him as he was such a huge character in a small body. I am bringing two of my yard cats home very soon, as I'm moving the horses - that will help to distract me from missing Balders although of course they are not replacements, and nothing can fill the Baldrick shaped hole in ours lives.
Sorry to have to bring such bad news on my first post for so long.
