We got a Zooplus one in the end, not bad for the price although the flat surfaces are a bit hard. Still, Drum seems to like it!

My lot would recommend Kalven as well.      Although when they get their run I'm going to get them an outdoor catplaystation one.

We have got the Kalvern ones outside in the run and they are brilliant - indoors we have got ones from Zooplus and they are also very good - they have sttod up to 3 years of abuse from 4 Bengals and 2 moggies and are still going strong

Thanks for the info everyone, that's really helpful. I liked the look of some of the Zooplus ones, just wasn't sure about the quality.

Kalven's certainly look well made - bit pricey though! Maybe I'll find one on eBay...

I have a couple of the cat play stations too for outside and they have been really good as well.

I bought one a couple of years ago off Ebay and including delivery only cost £64.99

I still haven't ordered a cat tree, but I was in contact with Kalven for a while about customising one of their designs. Their advice was centred around what would and would not be stable for my one stone lump and NOT what would make them the biggest profit. My understanding is that they work with solid wood and not strong cardboard.

Yep, I'd recommend Kalven too, only just replaced one of my Kalven ones after 13 yrs and all that was wrong with it was the carpet just looked a bit tatty now, it is still standing and is in use in the garage  I got exactly the same size and configuration as my cats have loved that particular model  This new one has a nice light coloured carpet (maybe that wasnt such a good idea LOL!)

Russell Hardy and Kalven are the best -strong , sturdy and well made .

Here at the Clan our posts get what we call a lot of abuse from our darlings and all of them are from Zooplus and have lasted abuse from well over 60 cats and kittens

In fact we have just got them all new ones for Christmas they are in the garage so they can't see them and daddy will build them before the visitors arrive so ours look somewhat tidier

We also have the Muputi barrels and they love them - we also have higher than normal single posts from Pet Planet - I have some 7 and 8 kg boys

Also take a look at the Sunny Harbour ones made by Mad Kitty Sarahs OH Paul I have seen these in the flesh and they are very sturdy - we are also having a couple of them to once I get around to ordering them - they are made for funds so are a bit special for that reason - all have been trialled by Suuny Harbour babies to

Apologies, I know there have been lots of threads on the subject of cat trees but I can't find anything particularly recent.

Anyway... does anyone have recommendations? I've seen loads of trees online but I'm reluctant to buy one without seeing it first. My local PaH and other pet shops have a few but they're expensive and badly made, and look like they'd fall over if anything bigger than a hamster tried to climb on them! I really don't want to risk buying one online in case they're the same.
