Junior Officer Ripley has a Heart Murmur

Maxy was diagnosed with a murmur when he was having all his tests for kidneys etc, they said he could have had it for years and it never stopped him lol, he was a nutter

Try not to worry  Benji (my childhood cat and Tiggy's brother) had a low grade murmur and was as fit and strong as any cat  He died in his teens of an unrelated illness.

Don't worry about it we have Phoenix who was given 6 months and is now 8 on no tablets and paces himself to do as he pleases

Also young master Echo has a murmer picked up at the vets so he is on monitor at the moment but is a little physco kitten with baby Charlie and his leg

I would let him be JO Ripley and let him be all he can - ours are both allowed to be what they want although I do watch them I am not so paranoid about them to mither them although both are Mummy's boys

How old is he now? I have had quite a few oldies with heart murmurs (2 of my current 3 have one), and they have never caused an issue - they are graded out of 6, so a 1/2 isn't that high.

I am sure he will be fine cos think that one of mine has one too and they are wayyyyyyyyyyyy older than JOR

Lots of love and hugs for JOR  xxx - dont worry too mcuh Hun (easier said than done I know) my little Persian girl Bina had a heart murmer all her life and it never affected her quality of life, in fact you would never know there was anything wrong - she eventually went to the Bridge because of PKD.

Im sure I read somewhere of a kitten that was diagnised with a heart murmer and after about 2/3 years it dissapeared?

We had to go to the vets with JO Ripley earlier as he has a urine infection and I could tell as soon as I came home he wasnt right so we went to the vets,   he was given the once over and treated for the infection and we have meds for him over the next few days but whilst they were looking over him they noticed he had a heart murmur,  it is a grade 1/2.   I came out of the vets and phoned Teresa straight away and she assures me all is OK and grade 1/2 is not bad but I was so worried.  He didn't have it when he was a kitten as he was checked by my vets and Teresa's vets quite a few times so it must have only just developed,  so please send some hugs for my baby boy who thinks he now has a 'mermaid' living in his heart    (well that is what I told him)
