It is 3 years today since I picked Zia up, although she wasn't supposed to still be here, I offered to foster her and my aim was to find a home for a 17yo to prove that it can be done, unfortunately the rescue had other ideas and wanted me to keep her!! Then when we got the CRF diagnosis in Jan on top of the arthritis, gingivitis and heart murmur, my only aim was for her to see her 20th birthday in May, I honestly never thought she would still be here for her anniversary, but bittersweet as we are having a bad week. It is also bittersweet for me as anniversaries make me remember my other bridge babes, out of the 13 cats I have had in the last 7 years, she is only the 3rd to have seen her 3rd anniversary, not everyone sees their 1st here, and of all the cats, I wouldnt have expected the eldest I have ever taken on to have managed the third anniversary, when so many younger cats haven't had that long here.
