Cat specifically pooping/urinating on kids beds - driving me mad :)

Brilliant news that the Feliway has helped.  I guess she was getting a bit stressed out over her gorgeous new babies!

Just to say thanks for suggesting Felliway.

I was very skeptical, and really didn't want to spend $30+ on a plug in.

However, we purchased the spray, as the store clerk said that the diffuser would only do one room.

What a difference! Amazing. She's calmed right down and hasn't done any doodoo's anywhere apart from the litter tray.

It could possibly be a behaviour problem following her having the kittens.  If this is the problem hopefully she will start to encourage them to become more independent in the next couple of weeks.

Having said all this, I would certainly take her to the vet.  If she is stressed about her kittens, this could well bring on cystitis or it could well be she has an infection.  Both need medical treatment.  If cats have an irritated bladder all normal logic goes out of the window to use the litter try, they just have to go there and then. 

Either way, I would certainly get a Feliway diffuser which in many cats helps to relax them.  They take about a week to help, but in either of the above would be well worth ago.  Your vet probably sells them or you can get them online cheaper from places like Vetuk, Zooplus, MedicAnimal.

Do you have any large sheets of plastic you can put on your beds?  It might divert her somewhere else, but at least you haven't got to keep washing covers/quilts etc.

I'd speak to the vet, pretty sure they can come into heat again less than 6 weeks after birth - I'm convinced spaying will cure the problem (can't tell you how many duvets I threw away!)

Kittens are nearly 6 weeks.

She's not displaying any other signs of being on heat like before.

An unspayed female will do this to scent the area to attract a mate - she needs to be spayed asap, how old are the kittens now?

A Bengal breeder I know has one particular Queen that will poo anywhere and everywhere when she is on heat, she even pood all over the microwave

It's not all about the kids beds anymore. At 6am I returned to bed to find she'd targetted our double bed.

She's definately anxious about something, meows an awful lot.

Not spayed yet - not sure how long after pregnancy/birth it can be done.

Every day there are new sheets and duvet's on the washing line...

is she spayed?  My bengal tilly did this until she was spayed we also shut her out of the bedroom for a month or so to break the habit

I agree with Sam, a vet check is needed to rule aqny problems out or get them sorted if there are some

I used to live with a b1tch who weed/ pooped on our bed after she had pups. In that case I really think it was stress, she was freaked out by being a mum.  When I came home from work she couldn't wait to go for a walk then would turn around and go home when we got up the road. I think some animals - including humans - are not cut out for parenting. Some cats definitely don't like sharing attention, just a peaceful life which don't happen with kittens!

Maybe you could try Feliway? Pets can get depression, maybe they can also suffer with post-natal depression?

I think I may take her to the vet then.

Her litter tray is very clean, and she uses it frequently - it's just something about the kids room. If the kids bedroom door is kept shut, she doesn't do it.

Maybe it is middening, I mean she had the front to do it on their duvets while the the children were asleep.

Is it usual for Queens to deficate 3 - 4 times a day?

In the first instance I would sugest taking jazzie to the vet for a check up ... she may have cystitis.

Cats only pee / poo on bed when they are trying to let us humans know they are NOT happy about something.  It's the surest way to get us to sit up and take note!

Easier than writing it out again

I'm considering ringing the vet or doing one of those 'ask the vet' online things, but they are about £15...

And it seems you guys know more about these types of things anyhow.
