Personally it makes me angry when people say their will that when they go their cat must be PTS. I know and hear of people that do this, their reasoning usually is that they think that no one can look after their cats like they can and that their cats will not settle anywhere else and be happy. I am sure all those in rescue will agree that cats adapt remarkably well and soon learn to love the hand that feeds them. I know we always strive to find the perfect home, sometimes it does take a little longer but worth it when you see how happy they are in the new home..

Thanks for the update Pickford ... so pleased these furries are no longer on death row.  In a strange way I sort of understand where the owner was coming from by thinking having them PTS was better for them but I'm glad she has seen sense and decided not to go through with it.

UPDATE!!!! Email received this morning from Whinnybank Sabctuary...
Love, Pickers,
xxxxxxxxxx

Hi Catchat
Update on Eliza and Freya - we have managed to convince the owner to let
Eliza go to one of our fosterers - she is being 'delivered' tonight and I
can only hope that the owner does not change her mind. She will not let her
cats come into our sanctuary as they are nervous around other cats and have
had a pretty perfect existence up until now with being out in the country
and a woodland at the bottom of the garden. She is not an uncaring woman and
had convinced herself that her cats would be better to have a short happy
life than a long unhappy one with unnecessary stress. It has taken me weeks
to convince her that having her cats put to sleep is not the answer and
thankfully it looks as though they are not going to be put to sleep now. She
has temporarily arranged for a family member to visit and feed Freya whilst
she is working overseas (unfortunately they are not in a position to give
her a home as they live in a flat and are not allowed pets) but no permanent
home has been offered as yet. So, it looks as though the urgency has been
somewhat reduced, although we would still like to find permanent loving
homes for both of them as soon as possible. Freya has become a much happier
cat since the male cat from the household has been rehomed so she would make
a wonderful pet in a house with no other animals or young children.

Thanks for you help

Hello,
That's great that there may be offers of help here - sorry not been on to check, but had toooo many other cats to sort out on CC - anyway, we had an email from Whinnybank saying thanks for posting on here and putting the cats on Cat Chat top cats etc. and they'll let us know what the responses are - so we are assuming these two are still needing help/homing - I don't know if Whinnybank post on forums, so they may not have looked on here themselves, they will be waiting for responses to come to them - so please, whoever may be able to offer any assistance, or a home please call them direct on: 01337 840414 or 01382 330457 or email them on: linda@didadesign.co.uk

I'll drop them a line to direct them here now anyway, but if you can help, please ring or email them.

Ta everso!
love

I agree Kelly but I'm sure the folks on CatChat (Pickford) are probably very busy which is why I dropped them an email just to let them know we have offers.

I thought pickford would have been keeping an eye on this board as he or she was the one who posted on here in the first place we have all offered as best we can hoping that pickford would answer us and say either way what they wanted to do but none of us have heard anything.I think maybe the people closer will contact them now as its clear nobody is watching for replys and getting in touch with us to say thank you that would be great or thanks but the offer you have made is not needed.

I don't mean to sound like a school teacher here but someone needs to contact Whinnybank Cat Sanctuary and alert them to the fact that we have offers of assistance.  Would it be possible for one of the people who is nearby (or at least in Scotland) to give them a call.  The logistics etc can then be sorted out.  It seems pointless everyone offering help if the the vet has already been called in!  (Sorry that isn't suppose to sound as heartless as it does :( )

I have sent the folks at CatChat an email letting them know that there are offers of assistance here as well.

Apologies if I am stepping on anyones toes or not following the correct protocol here.

No I haven't contacted them but I am so so far away and the only way I could foster them would be if we could get them here. And now there are offers from people that live much nearer.

Try Ktty at the below site they are just up the road in Cupar and are a wonderful rescue

http://www.cuparcats.co.uk/

She does almost everything for cats and is fairly local and may have more contacts in the Fife area who are closer in the short term

I live in oxfordshire so miles away. I couldn't keep them but I would foster them until they found great homes if we could get them here.Linda if you could take them on short time that might be better as then the rescues could find then suitable homes up there and would spare those poor cats having to go on a long trip down here to me.

Assuming Fife Scotland - I would be able to help in the short term but not longer term unfortunately - could certainly look to help with a rally, not too far from Fife so could certainly do the first part of any journey required.

Oh no. I'm nowhere near Fife. :(

Good luck. Please PM me and let me know how they get on. I could take one of them, but two would be pushing my luck with the original crew.

Wotcha! Listen I gotta do this quick, 'cos we don't know how long these furries have before the WORST happens...
If anyone can offer a home to either a 6  year old tabby or a 4 year old tortie in the FIFE area - PLEASE call Whinnybank Cat Sanctuary, like really quickly please.  They don't have the cats, they are still in their home, but this is what we've been told today:

Hi Catchat
Can you please put Eliza and Freya on the front page as no home has been
found for them and their current owner has just emailed me to say that she
has arranged for her vet to come round to the house to put Eliza to sleep -
the same fate may well apply to Freya.
All the details are on Whinnybank's page on Catchat.
Thankyou
In desperation...
Whinnybank Cat Sanctuary

I've got the humans here to put messages all over CC saying it's URGENT, but if anyone here can help - call them on: 01337 840414 or 01382 330457

THANKS GUYS!

love
