Pleased to report that Little Man has had some warm felix  , warm cat milk and warm chicken.  Not alot but at least I know his appetite is returning slowly so hopefully over the next couple of days he'll pick up even more.

he's not a fishy boy Mark .... he turned his nose up a fishy felix when he was fit and well so no fear of getting salty water,

2 weeks ago, I seriously thought we were going to lose Clapton and the first thing he would touch was 'fishy water' 

His appetite is still not great. 

PS - Don't be tempted to give him juice from canned fish as the salt will be far too high.

LOL ... you pre-empted my question Mark!

I have just given him some of the water that I cooked the chicken in.  I poached it in the microwave so the water is nice and tasty.  He has just drunk quiet a bit and I will keep encouraging to have a bit more during the evening ... little and often I guess is the key here.

It's so long since I had a proper baby in the house and I have never had to deal with a poorly baby before.

If you have a piece of fish, you could try boiling it and giving him the juice. Fluids are more important that food right now. I would even go as far as trying to bottle feed/syringe him some tepid water if he won't lap it. If you can't get a kitten bottle, I know tesco have some toddler cups with a rubber spout*, although not sure if the spout is small enough for a cat.

*In case you are wondering how I know - I nearly got one as a joke for OH today who keeps knocking glasses and cups over

Poor baby 

I know it's 'junk food' but what about grinding up some Dreamies or Temptations to sprinkle on top of his normal food?

My vet is closed by I spoke the the emergency vets and they said try warming u some smelly food  I'll give that a go in a bit.

I know with adult cats I wold suggest pilchards in tomatoe sauce ... but I don't really fancy trying a 4 month old on them in case they are too rich for his little tum!

Ok peeps need a bit of advice about Little Ginger Man. 

As you know little Ginger man went to the vet yesterday and the vet thinks he has "a virus".  He had a temp of 40 degrees and hadn't really eaten properly for 2 days.  Yesterday he had a shot of antibiotics and a shot of anti inflams.  Last night he had about just over ½ a packet of felix. He slept all night on the bed next to me and his temp is now down.  He had ½ a penicilin tablet this morning followed by a few sips of cat milk.  He then went back to bed and stayed there all day.  When I got home from work he had another ½ penicillin tablet and another couple of sips of cat milk.  He is now asleep again curled up in my jumper.

He is wobbly and not showing any interest in food.  I have cooked some chicken breast strips (poached in water) and he had a couple of nibbles (probably about 1 inch of chicken).  I'm really worried about him as he has lost weight.  He doesn't have any sickness or diahorea.

Does anyone have any suggestions to help get Little Man eating again?
